WENGER GONE BY 2011

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

WENGER GONE BY 2011

Post by REB »

A BLOG I GET EMAILED EVERYDAY POSTED THIS TODAY,,,, that on Wednesday working lunch was attended in the Paris Hyatt Hotel by Sebastien Bazin President of PSG, Charles Villeneuve newly appointed Chairman and Arsène Wenger. With a single goal: to prepare for the next season.

Which basically says that Wenger will play a leading role in restructuring the playing side of PSG and might even become the new manager next year. So could we see a closer working relationship of Arsenal with PSG ? The reports of Wenger’s departure next year was rebuffed by Arsene who went on to comment..

Which basically says…

“My future is at Arsenal, where I am under contract until 2011, then we will see. If I am asked for advice…It can happen that clubs ask for my opinion, I answer to who I want.â€

Wenger has always said he will honour his contracts, and that means he's with us till at least 2011!....meaning 15yrs at the helm 8)

I'm sure a year or so back he suggested he wanted to see us settle in the new stadium before he finally moved on, so 2011 does kind of make sense.
- and clearly, by that time, we'd have won the premiership/CL double back to back..so he'll be due a heroes send off

In Arsene We Trust :barscarf:

Even if it's true, we have three full seasons with Le Boss, don't we?

i like slaven bilic, especially when he knocked England out haha!

I hate the thought of Arsenal without Wenger, but Grimandi in charge would be delightful, he will have picked so much up from Wenger i reckon

I honestly can't imagine arsenal without arsene, although it definately has something to do with my age  But the guy really is Mr Arsenal like you said and it is quite nice to have such a reliable bloke who will never walk out on his contract and will never fuck about with other clubs like youre mourinho's and Eriksson's :D

I have a feeling of that too

Van Basten with Bergkamp as coach

or Grimandi as a Director of Football type with Bould as coach/team manager

but another candidate might be Laudrup with Jensen as coach

In meantime Wenger is sowing some seeds for any future possible departure

As much as he drives me nuts at times I reckon we should ask Wenger to pick his own succesor. In fact, if it's true Pat Rice is due to leave, which I hope not as he's the biggets Arsenal legend of all time imo, we should get somebody that will be able to take over from Wenger when he retires...Grimandi or Bould seems like good candidates as they're already Gooners, know the Arsenal way and is in no rush to become first team managers and Wenger can teach them all he knows.
