Does anyone remember?
Does anyone remember?
Does anyone remember about 4 years ago when a lot of you on here were complaining about being bored of consistently finishing in the top 4, qualifying for the champions league?
Remember when the few were saying it won't last forever and they were consistently slated and called AKB's but they knew it wouldn't last forever as that's how football works.
Remember people wishing that we lose, get out of cups and mocked the team for actually winning trophies. Well, this is what you wished for, you happy?
Stop crying on national radio about how poor we currently are. It happens, it's football, no one has a divine right to be at the top forever.

Re: Does anyone remember?
True, but then most clubs would also do something about the situation. I really can't think of any other supposed top club that would let their manager go so long without winning the league even though it is painfully obvious he no longer has what it takes.

Re: Does anyone remember?
No one thinks we have a devine right to be top forever, what we have a right to is to be competitive and for the club to keep the promises made about the stadium move..
Re: Does anyone remember?
Are you suggesting that we should have been more grateful for the top 4 finish followed by the CL last 16 exit?
When you see the same thing every year and it ends the same way it is mind-numbingly tedious. At least now its a bit different so for me what happened 4 years ago was not more enjoyable than whats happening now. I wouldn't choose to go back to seeing that every season.
As BWK says, we do not have divine right to be top ... but we have a right for the club to at least try to be competitive and not just accept making money by making up the numbers.
The reasons we are so poor now are self-inflicted reasons. Neglect, arrogance, incompetence, complacency etc. It is nothing to do with the natural cycle of football.

I'm fucking loving it...watching this empire crumbling is infinitely more entertaining than the mediocrity of the top four years. Hope Wenger stays till the end of the season.

Re: Does anyone remember?
No club has a right to anything but they all have a duty to improve and strive for better. They have a duty to act upon problems and consistent failings. Wanker hasn't done that. He has been negligent, he has been arrogant, he has disrespected the fans and quite frankly vandalised this club.

Fans arent crying on national radio cos we are so poor ........ fans are crying cos they dont feel that there is any hope for the future

Slides like we are on dont happen overnight - this decline has been happening for years and many of us have said so. People like you and wenker have put us where we are cos you tried to sell the club short saying that we should be happy with what we had. We support The Arsenal and believe 100% that, even in failures, we should have the ambitions to be the best. Accepting that top 4 was the pinnacle for us was a loser mentality transferred from the manager to fans like you, and it disrespects the history of our club and the people who made us great long before this french c.unt dragged his arse out of the footballing backwater that is japan

Whilst we are talking about getting what you wished for, shouldnt we be saying that to you and not the other way around ? You (and many more like you) were preaching loyalty to an arrogant outdated manager, and that loyalty has now been rewarded by a decline that hasnt been seen for decades

Re: Does anyone remember?
What a strange thread, I expected the gloating about us falling out of the top 4 to be coming from akbs after wenger has gone, not while he's still here
Are you asking us who wished him to leave whether we're happy that we're even worse now? No we're nor, hence why we wanted him gone. Many saw this slide coming long long ago, years before I woke up to what was happening.
You should listen to other clubs fans on national radio, chelsea fans want conte gone a year after winning the league

Re: Does anyone remember?
If this is in reference to that embarrassment on the 505 radio show last night, (just before it went off air approx 7.29), then he was either an AKB or a fake. Either way he was a tool and not representative of any longstanding Arsenal supporter. He did mention all my life - but as he sounded like a 12 year old girl, then that makes him an Arsene FC acolyte. I'm sure they only aired it so they could replay it again and again over the next few months. if you think Arsenal Fan TV is bad, this was like Ty's special brother on the verge of a nervous breakdown. Toe curling!

Re: Does anyone remember?
People were rightly moaning that the club charging the highest ticket prices in Europe were setting the height of their ambition at 4th, while lying through their teeth about competing at the top in Europe.Nos89 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 05, 2018 10:20 amDoes anyone remember about 4 years ago when a lot of you on here were complaining about being bored of consistently finishing in the top 4, qualifying for the champions league?

Many foresaw that accepting (and rewarding ) mediocrity from the manager and players was the start of a very slippery slope but were told that 4th was great and we should be grateful.
The club failed to recognise and act, leaving a gaping abyss now between us and the top clubs that no amount of paper is going to cover over.
Re: Does anyone remember?
When we moved from Highbury we weren't told we would be playing for 4th every season and then getting our arses whipped in the last 16.We were told we would be competing with Madrid Barca and Bayern. The club fleeces the fans with the highest ticket prices in the world to watch a 6th place team.Yes we were bored with finishing 4th when mega rich Leicester City won the title when Spurs with half our gates for a decade and half our wage bill are now better than usNos89 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 05, 2018 10:20 amDoes anyone remember about 4 years ago when a lot of you on here were complaining about being bored of consistently finishing in the top 4, qualifying for the champions league?

Chelsea and City have sacked title winning managers while we keep our 14 year failure on £10m a year
