THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

someone on social media pointed out that we have gone from the Fergie to Moyes stage without even changing the manager
:)

My mate tells me that David Moyes' Man United team had 48 points after 29 games.

Wenger's Arsenal team after 29 games this season has 45 points :barscarf:

Just curious what's the first page you check regarding Arsenal news.

Mine is the Sky Sports Arsenal page. http://www.skysports.com/arsenal I have this bookmarked as a favorite and tend to look here before wandering around other media outlets.

Anyway, I looked there this afternoon when I got home and was sorry not to see a headline saying he's gone.
I do look forward in the not too distant future (the sooner the better) to seeing such a heading.

Whatever way this plays out. He will try to leave his head held high. Convinced of his own superiority, intelligence and the “Success” he has given Arsenal. Huge payout, nice presentation cannon, big send off dinner with load of smarmy bellends crawling all over him, telling him how great he has been. Nice new autobiography incoming, interviews galore, maybe a film in the pipeline. Public speaking commitments, on “How to be great! Like i am!” Countless numbers of AKB s ringing the samaritans, cause they cant cope the cult leader/dictator has gone. Pass on his vast knowledge to others on how to be a genius manager, like i am. Maybe giving lectures on how to steal an enormous wage for achieving fuck all in 14 years is his best bet.
Sack him! Pay him off, and bundle him out of the door quietly. Dont give him the chance too milk his departure. We owe him nothing! First few years Brilliant! Fantastic! But that was a lifetime who in football. He has just stuck around like a bad turd that wont flush :censored:

A lot of this lies with the supporters, he could do no wrong, and he cleverly manipulated the Board by getting as much power as he could after his dear friend David Dein left the club, the poor fucker soldiered on alone and nobody batted an eyelid, he was allowed to do what he wanted and supporters never questioned this...
Supporters created this monster, and dear old Stan went along with it....

Thanks to Wenger's vanity and the board's incompetence, we're actually going to face a Liverpool-length title drought. Every day he stays, is a further day into the club's decline and the next manager will need years (assuming we give him that long) to fix Wenger' s mess. It's quite possible that the Invincibles title could be our last PL title for 20-25 years.
