Stoke and Southampton handing back blocks of tickets.
Stoke and Southampton handing back blocks of tickets.
Got an email today from Arsenal about Friends and Family tickets for the Stoke game. Had a little look and noted Stoke had handed back two blocks. Then checked Southampton and they handed back a block as well. I can understand Stoke giving back blocks as it is on Easter Sunday and transport will be sparse, but Southampton handing back a block for a Sunday afternoon? Even the away fans are boycotting Arsenal! I suspect those b'stards in claret & blue will be taking up their full allocation. And I don't mean Burnley!

The old song used to be "you've only come to see The Arsenal", and now it appears that nobody wants to see them

part of a wider picture maybe - I do think that the PL bubble might be slowly bursting

Surprising that Southampton with plenty to play for and subsidised tickets (away fans pay £30 or less) wouldn't have enough fans to make the trip up the M3 in the afternoon. OK they have a cup semi where 30,000 will turn up but to not get the 3,000 or so for the Arsenal trip is odd. Probably doesn't help that the date and kick off time has changed twice.Gunner Rob wrote: ↑Tue Mar 20, 2018 9:17 ampart of a wider picture maybe - I do think that the PL bubble might be slowly bursting
Must admit I have noted less enthusiasm from away support. I have a friend who supports Swansea who I meet up with when they play in London, and this year for the West Ham game they only needed the lower tier and that wasn't full. And that was on Saturday 3pm. I suspect the Premier League has peaked. Just a matter of how hard the crash is.

I agree the PL has peaked and disposable income has shrunk.
More compelling expenditure, cost of living etc have gone through the roof, I am not proud of the fact that we have the highest ticket prices...
Mark my words, ST's will be a thing of the past, greed is NOT SO good now AFC PLC....

It's about 30 years since I had one. Used to have the standing season ticket, but never wanted the same seat for a season. I go to matches with different people and the silver memberships are fine. Can even return the tickets and get a refund if the date/time changes. No need to wait for game to sell out to use ticket exchange. Suspect Arsenal will be down to 30,000 STHs in the not too distant future with no wait list.

Football has also reached saturation point on TV. The greedy filth that run the game have a league for everyday of the week. People can pick and choose now. One aspect the greedy filth in the FA and UEFA and the PL etc did not foresee was the more discerning "customer".

You are right about saturation, I like football but its out of hand now, too many mediocre games on Tv.

Surprised at Southampton. Hardly a long or expensive trip, plenty to play for.
Not surprised at stoke. They are hopeless and even when they were a mid table side they never threatened to pull off a result at any big club.

The other moot point is that they are both shit clubs and we are on our slowly but surely heading towards mediocrity..

Stoke is always a dire encounter. Even with Pullis they never travelled well and they look to be sinking. But I like Southampton. What did they ever do to deserve Hughes ? Hope they stay up.

In the spirit of British / Russian tit for tat, can we hand back Callum Chambers?
