It's back, other games this weekend

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

For some reason this Interlull seems to be really dragging, or at least it does for me. I dunno why but it just seems like it was ages ago there was EPL football.

Engerland v Italy - Watching paint dry will be far more exciting :D

Absolutely agree - this seems to be the longest interlull I have ever lived through, and it's not as though I cant wait for Arsenal games either

It's because our last game was nearly two weeks ago against Milan. Don't need a mid season break just get knocked out the FA cup early.

it is because the season now goes on longer than ever.
international breaks have seen to that - they are a relatively recent concept.

not so long ago you would have had a PL match last weekend, England would still have played Italy tonight and then you would have been back to another PL fixture on Saturday and then another one on Easter Monday, with the season wrapped up by early May.

now it is just so tedious....its why I increasingly follow my non league team (season finishes April 28th and they will have played 46 games since last August)

In the year where there is a world cup or a euros, they should just do away with the international breaks in November and march, in which only friendlies get played. Only have competitive internationals otherwise there is no reason for them.
Finish season early, players get a little break before going into a major tournament.

you wait until next season - The Nations League (glorified friendlies) in September, October and November.

Qualification for the next Euros doesn't start until March 2019.

Lads maybe best leave this one alone now. It's only gonna get more bitter and acrimonious as it goes on.

Have to be honest if it gets to personal insults we'll just delete the thread.
Sorry Lad, I was bored! :D :)

Watched a decent match tonight, juventus Vs real Madrid. Quality from start to finished. Very few stray passes. The odd dodgy referring decision and a great goal from Ronaldo, wouldn't say it was best ever goal in champions league history. Overblown it a bit. The ref should've disallowed it and booked Ronaldo for a high boot. Still not bitter over RvP at the camp nou 2011.
I'd say Giroud's scorpion was better.

Brilliant goal by Ronaldo, but he still has the most irritating face in football...Applauded by the Juve fans which was a genuinely nice touch.
I await the barrage on social media from AKBs about this proving Allegri isn't for to replace Wenger.
Never felt Juve were overrun by Real, just Real were clinical when they got the chances. The return leg will certainly be Buffon's last European game wonder if Allegri would bring him to Arsenal as a goalkeeping coach?

Without a doubt he is the "marmite" of the football world - the media make a big thing about his global popularity and there is a lot of truth to that, but I would also say that there is as many (if not more) football fans that despise the arrogant c.unt. No matter what opposition ground he plays at he is booed right from the start - normally the opposition fans will react that way if a player dives or puts in a dirty tackle, but with that c.unt they are booing him from the get go.

I too would agree that juve were far from over-run in the first half at least (I didnt see the second half) - they created a few decent chances but failed to take any, and at this level you have to finish at least one of them. I have no probs with the ref booking dybala for his dive, but 10 minutes before that benzema dived trying to win a free at the other end, and he received no punishment - does the dive have to be in the penalty area for it to be punished ??

Have to say that that turkish ref is one woefully, arrogant, short arsed c.unt
