Southampton H, Sun 8th April, 6th Place Trophy.

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

It is lovely to be in a full stadium but thursday night was the closest its been at the emirates to being at an Arsenal game from the 70s and 80s at Highbury, the atmosphere was good and the people around you get it and are the same crowd that you would have stood with at the old girl when things are not going so well.

When we conquer the football world again and the opposing supporters are singing "where were you when you were 6th (or shit)
these people can hold there heads up
You must be dead lucky where you sit then because I've been inside Highbury when there's been under 20,000 on numerous occasions and the people I shared those experiences with back in the 80s are the polar opposites of 90% of the 'superfans' who attend amongst the 30,000 now. Wasn't there on Thursday so you're better placed to comment but from the zoom ins they show on the TV they didn't much look like old skool fans

By the way there's a difference between supporting the club through thick and thin and refusing to have the shit ripped out of you by a greedy septic c.unt who has destroyed everything we once stood for. I've been to many, many games home and away when we've been far more shit than we are now and I would do again if we were owned and run by people who didn't rip the piss out of us. The form of the team is irrelevant to me. Repeatedly being lied to and killing every single principle we once stood for is the bigger picture

Today is all about getting the tactics just right and finding effective partnerships.

My cunning plan to hollow out the Yorkshire early doors so I can stuff as many peas and carrots inside it, hence maximising free plate space worked a treat last week. Then its down to whether we go for a back three of beef, pork and turkey, or whether we rotate the pork with gammon and save that for bigger Sundays. I may be feeling little bit jaded once its all washed down with a nice cold Guinness, but on 70 minutes will revert to the pre-programmed substitution of double espresso

Clearly you either have Irish heritage in you, or you would like to be Irish 8) It all makes sense now ............ this apparent over critical comments of the people from our lovely land (obviously I'm not including dublin in that), is obviously one of those "me thinks doth protests too much"

What about the Plan B? What happens if the Yorkshire isn't big enough to house both peas and carrots? It's clear that you haven't planned for unforeseen events.

SteveO out! :D

What is your expected peas today...and will it be an illusionary dominance of meat on the plate ?

On the contrary mate - if 'special circumstances' dictate that the Yorkshire isn't big enough then Plan B is to have a last minute panic buy at 14.14 hours and go for the overpriced XL plate option. I have been managing roast dinners for 30 years I'll have you know, so why you question me now? :D
