Toon (A) Sunday 15/4 @ 13:30

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I had a relative who played for Newcastle in the days of Wyn Davies and Bobby Moncur and I was given a Barcodes shirt when I was in infants school, so I've always had a soft spot for them.

I'm also a bit envious of a city where everybody supports the same team. When I was young I hated having cousins and school mates who were Chelsea or Palace fans. Fortunately, none were ever Scum fans though.

I live up here and to be fair (and ignoring the irony of being a Welshman supporting Arsenal living in the North East.....) the one-club town thing is great. Sunderland is the same to be fair. People would just not be able to fathom why you would support somebody else (unless you were born/family from there) - haven't seen a single United, City, Liverpool, Arsenal or Chelsea piece of gear since I moved up here.

Went to a hospitality event at St James Park a few months ago and I was sat on the same table as Bobby Moncur. Being Bobby Moncur he got given more of the luxury cheese on the board so I pilfered quite a bit when he was out of his seat. Assume that would be regarded as quite a heinous crime up here so I'm hoping I don't get spotted when I go through the turnstiles on Sunday.

Not a lot going on since the pit closures, I am led to believe, although crime and drugs are faring well.... :tumbleweed:

Back in the eighties i had a good Geordie mate who got me on the London Newcastle supporters club train to watch Arsenal play at Newcastle which was the game before they played Sunderland . They were putting money in a hat that was being passed round which was for the first person to punch a Sunderland fan to win.Good to me though thankfully, took me in the pub near the ground.

All these 1.30 Sunday games aren't doing much for my waistline, but on the plus side the local carveries takings are going up.

I've been told there's still a chance of finishing 5th though, so I guess I should really be taking this more seriously and prepare myself for a hand shandy in case that wonderful dream comes true

I fuckin' hate these no mark fat bellied sister shaggin' cuntts - They deserved relegation and they still do - Fuckk emm and their so called 'passion' yeah right.

I just wish we still had a team who would go there trun the cunnts over Big Time whilst scoring the Greatest Goal of All Time...Just Like God (aka: Denis Bergkamp) did.

:proudtosay:
you don't need to clarify who god is....we true believers know who there is only one true god :D

You would think so wouldnt you, but there are some on here who believe that Bergkamp's goal (THE BEST GOAL I have ever seen) was a fluke scored from a mis-controlled pass  There might be an excuse for one lad to misjudge it cos his huge nose probably got in the way when trying to watch the game on tv, but the rest of the Gooners doubting the great man's touch should really know better 8)

Has anyone got any odd jobs they need doing round the house?

I've already assembled the flat packs, cut the grass yesterday and cleared the loft. Ideally looking for a slot between 1330 and 1530 hours.....

And one of those mid-table sides will be playing a load of back up players - surely sky will be asking themselves how shit these back-up players are if they cant break into our first 11

The senile french c.unt must surely be fast approaching a dilemma - obviously winning the european leyland daf cup is his priority (so that he can have his 974th attempt at winning champs league  ), but at same time he has to be conscious of burnley in his rear view mirror ? His season has been absolute shit so far, but can you imagine the reaction if he doesnt win the europa league AND burnley finishes ahead of us ?  Finishing 10 points behind leicester when they won the league was bad enough, but to finish behind burnley would go way beyond that. I know that their run in is slightly easier than ours (chavs at home and us away are only big games), and we have manure and leicester away so the home game against burnley could be the decider if we slip up against the geordies today.

Personally I think that they will turn us over today either 2-1 or 2-0
