AUXERRE STAR AGREES MOVE TO THE GUNNERS

Post by nuttygoonerpaul »

:D Auxerre star agrees Arsenal switch
11:02 July, 10, 2007
Bakari Sagna will become a Gunner this week according to his agent

The 24-year-old was voted the best right-back in the French League last season and can also play on the left.

Agent Christophe Mongai told setanta.com: "I hope that a deal will be done before tonight (Tuesday), everything depends on Auxerre.

"We arrived yesterday (Monday) with Bakari and negotiated his salary and contract with Arsenal. We have found agreement. He has passed a medical, everything is okay.

"The contract will last five seasons. I really hope the issue will be positive today. Arsenal are ready to spend between £6.7 and £10 million."

Great, I think he sounds like a really good player, although I've never seen play admittedly.

I think he'll be our first choice right back, with Eboue possibly moving to right wing?

I say this because as we are constantly reminded on this forum Eboue Can't Defend.

Where is ECD (or is it now also IHH, as we may have discovered on another thread) why is he not rejoicing at this news which looks sure to deny his nemesis a first team place?

Why do people wanna see Eboue play righ midfield?

He cant cross his legs let alone the ball!

I hope Sagna is bought to play right back!

I hate saying it but the way Eboue goes down is a disgrace and make me ashamed to see him in our colours!

Do excuse me if I’m not wetting myself at the prospect of signing a right back.

Bojinov would be good. I’m told he’s ace on Football Manager!

I agree, but at least he isn't as bad as the Oman team at the Asian Cup. They were even being stretchered off and walking back on a minute later!

Eboue will be back-up for Sagna, nothing wrong with that at all.
Don`t think he will be moved forward, at right midfield we`ve got plenty of better options

I won't get excited until the deal goes through, if ever. Even then, I will need to witness the abilities of the anticipated new signing Sagna, before making a judgement as to whether or not he is a good enough replacement.

It would be no good replacing one average defender for another. Although from what I have read about his versatility, this Sagna fellow sounds like he would be a good acquisition.

i think IF this deal goes through. (and after all the speculation in recent weeks i'm waiting for the official announcement.)

then it can only mean that eboue is going to be moved to midfield. arsene has no other way of justifying having three very competant right backs. especially when we need to address the problem of lack of width in midfield.

if my(along with many other people) prediction is correct, then i think it is a good move.

eboue would make an excellent winger. certainly better that what is available to buy at the moment.
