Your choice as manager/Arteta Merged thread
Re: Your Choice As Manager
Allegri or Simeone, we wont get either though, we'll get Rodgers or the 30yr old from Germany, cheapskate replacement basically.

Re: Your Choice As Manager
Basically makes no difference as this load of rubbish players will take time to replace for any manager to become a success. They are all Wenger player choices & not much to work with. Maybe if they have a bit of respect for the 'boss' they may perform !!. Pigs might fly !. Bring back Bertie Mee !!.

Re: Your Choice As Manager
Voted Allegri but don't think it will happen. Ancelotti as a stabilising manager would be ok in the short term Whoever comes in has a hard job to rebuild especially with the Wengerites sniping at his every move.
Just because we were Wenger out doesn't mean we have to unconditionally support the new manager.. Certainly we are duty bound to give him time and support and allow his mistakes. But in the medium term we have to call it for what it is and not fall into the trap of believing that getting rid of Wenger was enough. No more mediocrity can be tolerated.
Also I hope that no future Arsenal manager will spend so long at the club that he is almost too powerful to move.

Re: Your Choice As Manager
What worries me is we aren't in a position to get a top draw manager, that leaves us with the likes of Ancelotti, Rodgers and even Eddie Howe.
Rodgers would be a disaster for Arsenal, the SPL has always been skewed towards a few clubs and given Rangers demise I would take any of his achievements with a pinch of salt.
Out of all of the candidates, as I said yesterday, PV4 would be my choice as part of a long-term project. Perhaps a few years to challenge for a top-four place, then push on to challenge for the title and compete in the CL again. Failing that Enrique who reportedly would say yes to the Arsenal job, would be another good choice imo.
If Arsenal fuck this up, things could get even worse than they are now.

Allegri or Jardim.
I think it will actually be a surprise choice that no-one will guess, a disappointing choice for most people. Gazidis put emphasis on saying it will be someone who wants to play good football and who gives youngsters a chance. That sounds like there won’t be much money to spend!! I don’t think Arsenal will back a ‘big’ manager, we’ll try to do it on the cheap, that’s who we are now. It's exciting but also a bit worrying! Who is going to choose the new manager? There’s not one person on the board who has a clue, that’s why it is worrying.
Still I am just delighted that Wonga is going, as long as he totally leaves the club!!!

Ain't that the truth mate? I really fear this as the outcome - does anyone really trust Dumb and Dumber to make the right choice. If they did get PV4, personally I would back that but I think it will either be Rodgers or Arteta, both of whom would be a total fucking disaster

Re: Your Choice As Manager
Can’t imagine Rodgers being appointed. Kroenke wants an easy ride and the bloke will get a tough ride from fans because he’s an idiot.
Arteta is the worry. Would be a fucking disastrous appointment but cheap, malleable and would appease Wenger lovers. Not in a million years.
Simeone would be my choice. An old war horse like Ancelotti or Allegri would be great as they wouldn’t fuck around - come in, dump the deadwood and change the culture. Not sure Vieira is the right option but would wholeheartedly support him if that was the option.

Re: Your Choice As Manager
Wenger was sacked and the club have paid him his 11m so my guess is that we will go for somebody cheap. Noises coming out of the club reeks of the desperation to get back in the CL, not to win it, but for the money. Our board, and Stan, will be more than happy for another decade of top 4, the lack of ambition is not leaving with Wenger, that "Top 4" business is part of the clubs DNA now. Plus any decent manager is going to want to have a fire sale and money to spend. Can you imagine managers like Pep or even Mourinho working with the likes of Iwobi, Xhaka, Mustafi....the list goes on & on. Wengers "legacy," the absolute & utter mess he has left behind is going to become apparent in the next few months. I hope we don't get back in the CL next season, the new guy is going to have his hands full as it is and anyway we don't have the squad to play in the CL. Europa again next season and with a half decent manager we can even win it...that will be the way back in to CL. Slow & steady, I don't foresee any quick fix out of this mess.
Charlie Nicholas & Merson (especially Nicholas) are banging a relentless drum for Brendan Rodgers?? What the hell is the matter with them.....Nicholas raving about Celtics performance in the SPL?? If I could ask both of them a question it would be "How does Brendan get on in the CL with his swashbuckling team"??
Enough said...... but I think we're gonna get him anyway

Re: Your Choice As Manager
I voted for Ancelotti as a safe pair of hands (who has actually won the CL, Arsene), but would take Allegri, or Simeone (which is a pipe-dream). If we have to go for an ex-player, then Vieira.
I'd like a British manager, but I accept that is pie in the sky now. A young manager would be good, but he needs to be experienced at the top level. TOF has left a large job to do for the next man. Christ, anyone who can coach defence and attack would be better than our Sunday League level coaching set-up under The Old Fraud.

Re: Your Choice As Manager
Just read an article on the gooner, where gooner ed is of the understanding that Ancelloti will be in the hot seat for next season.
My preference would be same as most on here, Aleggri with maybe Viera joining the coaching staff
