:( Arsenal line up £10million move for ex-Spurs man

06:52 10/07/2007

Arsenal Football Club are believed to be considering a shock move for Fredi Kanoute.

The Gunners are in the market for another top-class striker to help soften the blow of losing Thierry Henry to Barcelona, and former Tottenham Hotspur man Kanoute has caught the attention of Arsene Wenger.

The 29-year-old has become one of the most feared strikers in Spain thanks to his fine form for Sevilla, and whilst the Uefa Cup winners want to hold onto their player, they would accept an offer of £10million.

"If any club is interested in Fredi Kanoute the minimum price is €15million (£10million)," Sevilla club president Jose Maria Del Nido told the Spanish press.

Kanoute admits he is happy to stay in La Liga with his current club yet admits he wants a fresh contract, and if this isn’t forthcoming, he may be willing to risk the wrath of the Spurs fans by moving to the Emirates Stadium.

Kanoute was brilliant for Seville last season but his record in the Premiership was poor,he failed at West Ham and the Spuds.I cant see him coming. The smart money is on Martens.

So he could be a former Arsenal, Spurs and West Ham player.

Like the legendary Steve Walford.
