I think way too much is made of the Wenger factor. It's a European semi final so they're going to try as hard as they can, just as they did tonight.GoonerMuzz wrote: ↑Thu Apr 26, 2018 9:54 pmI'm actually looking forward to the away leg, we'll really get to see exactly how much efforts the lads want to put in for their out going deity![]()

It was actually a fantastic atmosphere tonight - despite the result I have real optimism again for the future.northbank123 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 26, 2018 9:03 pmAngriest I’ve been in a long time about football.
Nice to actually feel something though. Hopefully it’s back for good and next season it will actually bring some joy.
We get someone in to sort out the defence and the Emirates can be a fortress in the future.

Give it a rest you moron.xisstential wrote: ↑Thu Apr 26, 2018 9:25 pmI hope we go out...Wenger does NOT deserve a grand send off. This is the team HE built and as has been said so many times tonight, had we gone down to 10, we would have been reamed (remember Bayern??)
Wenger winning the Europa will perpetuate the myth surrounding him and extend his presence hovering over the club and new manager for another 2 or 3 years. He lived by this crap team that he assembled and now he can die by it.
This is a man who inherited the best back 5 in the world and is leaving us with one of the worst. Ramsey, Xhaka, Kos & Ramsey, my first four out the door. Kos and Mustafi have a comedy doubles act they can take on the road...let them.
Listening to TOF now, not one mention of the fact that we were playing against 10 men, after the two Bayern games it's ALL he talked about. And again no mention of the shambolic defending, instead highlighting their fantastic attacking force??? (One lone striker against 3 defenders)
Two more months and then maybe I can start caring again.
The fanbase now needs to come together - Wenger is not worth wasting time over anymore. There is no justification to be negative now.

How many times has Koscielny fucked it up in the last minutes of big games? Too many to remember.
Looked like a fantastic atmosphere and finally a game to bring the passion back. Don't rule us out. We've got a better away record in Europe than we do domestically. 2-2 draw will do us nicely.

Bollocks - At home against 10 men & their manager up in the stands and still can't win. Fuck off - we're 'brown bread'.

Re: AtHletico MaHdrid in SemHi FinHal
- biggest fault lies with Mustafi from what I saw.
Look at Welbeck cutting in again when there was acres toward the corner . he went down and gave them the chance for the inevitable long ball . He cut in to two men obviously has no left foot.

Absolutely gutted.
I feel like we're out.
Does a 1-0 win over there send us through?

The Wenger European defensive banter masterclass has been going on a lot longer, since 1992 judging by this..............................!rodders999 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 26, 2018 8:48 pmHoof ball over the top causing chaos for the past decade.

The way the game panned out is hardly surprising,it's happened so many times there last 10years .A goal up against 10men going into the latter stages and then a wellbeck koslamity and mustiffy have a fannyfart compilation
and hey presto were out.1-0 probably wouldn't have been enough but it would have gave us a chance at least. We're fucked now.
So le fartpipes last game will be at Huddersfield
Quite fitting really as Herbert Chapman is the man who really put our club on the map

So le fartpipes last game will be at Huddersfield

Fuck Koscielny
Re: AtHletico MaHdrid in SemHi FinHal
Thats why Wenger is going. It was ridiculous how we were caught out at the back. There was nothing wrong with closing the game out 1-0, but given the scope of chances we had, and the fact they were down to 10 men from the 10th minute, the team and Wenger felt 1-0 wasn't what we deserved so they pushed, and ended up getting caught out.
I remember the 3-1 home loss to Monaco a few years back. We played shit and were down 2-0. AOC scored a late goal to take it back to 2-1. We then got counter attacked & went down 3-1 as we were like mad trying to get it to 2-2.
The lack of strategic thinking is amazing. In the Monaco, game, whats wrong with cutting the losses at 2-1 down and trying to overturn the deficit at Monaco? The same applies last night. Why not take the slim lead? Go to Madrid where they need to attack us, & play them on the counter. Although now we are in the shit. We need to attack a team that is very well organized and lethal on the counter - they can pick us off easily.
Another blast form the past, Jamie Carragher was analyzing a 1-1 draw we had with Swansea a few years back. He was aghast at how we were counter attacked in the 84th minute, away from home, whilst 1-0 up. This is the type of repetitive shit that left me exasperated with Wenger.
This tie is his last big test as Arsenal manager. The league games are all dead rubbers, we are out of the domestic cups, so these European games are all thats left - and he threatens to lose it making the same typical mistakes that have dogged this team for years.
He cant help himself.

Where has this Arsenal been? Where has this fight been? Where has this passion, hunger and desire been? Tonight the boys played well. They played fucking well.
Fuck this negativity shit, we're still in this tie. We go out there and score and their away goal is gone, we go out there and perform the same way we did tonight and I think we will go through. Athletico don't play an open game of football, they showed that tonight. They will know that we need to score a goal and they won't be stupid enough to play open football. We can get at them, the fact that they're not a pressing team works to our advantage. It's a final now. Score a goal and this tie is right back in our favour.
Tonight showed us that we can play football. Tonight showed us that we can actually compete against the big teams. Tonight showed us that we have players who can work wonders on a football pitch. Tonight, despite the draw, we showed what we are capable of.
I never thought I would be this optimistic but tonight showed that we can play proper football. If we go to Madrid and play the way we did tonight and convert the chances we can create then we can get through to the final.
