You make it sound as though it's easy to even score against an Atletico Madrid side that hasn't conceded a single goal in their last 11 home games and have only let in 15 (FIFTEEN) goals in the league all season.

Based on last night, it's very obvious how they are going to set up against us. It won't be easy to score, last night established that, but provided we play a tight game and concentrate for 90 mins, we only need to score one.

Make no mistake, we fucked up massively tonight. Had we held on at 1-0, we'd have gone out there with a strong chance of going through to the final. Now however its advantage them, and with their formidable defensive record particularly at their own ground, they are by far the favorites and rightly so. All they have to do is keep a clean sheet (something they have been able to achieve easily and frequently at home) and they're through.Besides, I'm pretty sure the thought of facing Danny Welbeck wouldn't be causing them to lose any sleep or worry about their ability to keep a clean sheet. Let's also not forget that we'd need to keep them out at the back which with bottlejobs like Koscielny in there, it's far as fuck from certain. Let's be realistic about our chances here and realize our hopes of causing an upset are very slim.

I think this is why I think we could be in a better position to go through now than if we had gone to Madrid with just a 1-0 lead. We have shown time and time again that when we NEED a result, like desperately NEED a result, we can go out and perform and get said result. When t comes to defending a lead we are absolutely shocking. Ostersund and Milan (prior Welbeck's dive) set the European precedent for that this year but our hilarious league form this season also gives further weight to that statement. Newcastle away and West Ham at home (prior their shut down with 10 mins to go) are the latest in a string of games in which we have thrown a lead away.

Don't be mistaken in thinking that I'm sat here dressed like that bloke from AFTV sipping out of an Arsenal waterbottle, because I'm not. The game is ten times harder, ten times less in our favour and we need a big boy performance to get through to the final. Based on recent history, I believe that we ARE capable of such big performances when the neck is on the chopping block. City last year in the FA Cup semi, Chelsea last year in the FA Cup final. We're capable of doing it.

Whether we will or not is an entirely different story.

Tbh i don't know why we stopped crossing it, early on we were putting in some excellent crosses and we were getting closer and closer to scoring, then comes OGLs half time team talk and suddenly it was back to tippy tappy bollocks, and then Jack gets to the line puts in a lovely cross and we score, then it was back to tippy tappy going nowhere again......

We drew 1-1 against a team who starting taking off forwards and replacing them with centre halves and central midfielders with 20 mins to go, who didn't have a single corner, and who were clearly going to be delighted to leave with only a 1-0 defeat........and we still couldn't win

If any match summed up Wenger's legacy then this was it.
