THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Has Wenger left Arsenal in better shape than Fergie left Man Utd when he eventually left?

I would say the next manager has a better chance than Moyes had. For a start 6 key players left/ retired with Fergie. They were champions, and the only way is down from there. The squad Moyes was left with had a lot less quality than ours does.

I'd say Wenger has left the club at its lowest point for 23 years, with a squad that needs proper coaching and defensively organising. We do have top4, league challenging potential, just Wenger couldn't do it anymore. But he's left it set up for next man to be successful.
We need a goalkeeper a centre back and a central midfielder. I expect Lacazette and Aubameyang to play well next season. We do have at least 3 good young players to come into the team but we are still behind the top 4 in terms of quality.
Those positions I pointed out are vital to any chance of us competing next season but we are miles behind City. Liverpool could run them close next season

Weird to think we can probably lock this thread in a few weeks, almost 10 years since it started.

The so called greatest manager fails again. Two European finals in 22 years apparently makes you a legend. George graham made two finals in two years and managed to win one of them

All I can say is thank f*ck that he is gone. This team is void of ideas on and off the ball and the proof was tonight. Abysmal boring football.
