When Wenger took over we had Bergkamp - arguably the greatest Premier League player of all time paired with probably the best back four in the league. Now we have Welbeck, a bunch of jokers in defence, and a half empty stadium.

look on the bright side lads - at least now they can appoint the new manager immediately.
Lets see if they announce the new manager before the ST renewals, i doubt it.

Poor defending by us and a need to take three touches before shooting.
Might work against poor prem league clubs but at this level it doesn't.

Complete difference in class. Lacca and Welbeck aren't clinical enough when it counts.

We have the ability to go out there and win the game.

This is essentially the final for these players. Step up now and do your job, play as a team, work as a team and fight for every ball.

If we do go down I want us to keep the heads up and fight, if we go out I want to still be able to hold my head-up high and say that we went out fighting, we went out with pride. This a European semi-final, we are still very much alive in the second leg tie. We made it harder for ourselves by not taking a lead to Madrid, but we are still very much alive.

It's 1-1. Very much all to play for and Madrid will know that. Madrid will try and make sure that we don't score and will continue to shut us down. I can't see Madrid playing an open game against us or coming at us in droves, they won't want to risk leaving the defence open to our attackers. We play better when we need a result instead of defending one. I would be more worried going into this game with a 2-1 lead, to be honest.

I'm confident, I don't know why seeing as I'm a surly ball of pessimism the rest of the time, but I think we could go through.

Whatever happens, I hope they do us proud. :barscarf:
I don't know what the fuck I was on about with optimism but I'm never fucking doing it again!!

Piss poor. Fucking. Piss. Poor!

I never want to see Ospina play for Arsenal football club again. NEVER!!! The *word censored* MOVED UT OF COSTA'S WAY!!!!!! Useless fucking prick!!

Bellerin? Fucking overrated *word censored*, had one good game last week and prick thinks he can jog around and act like everything he does is golden. Add Shkodran Mistaki to the list of people I never, ever want to see in an Arsenal shirt again!!!! Utterly diabolical excuse for a defender. Is Mustafi Albanian for useless *word censored*? Monreal's crossing was shambolic. Just fucking shambolic.

Let me get on to Ozil. That overpriced, fucking useless piece of shit! 350k per-week for walking fucking eyes!!!

Apart from the Aubameyang and Mkhitaryan and Lacazette I fucking hate our squad of spineless, defeatist players! I hate them all.

Hidara from Salzburg, sign him up. Drop Ozil in Germany when sending the van out for Hidara.

I too felt some passion coming back while watching that game. Can't say I'm surprised at the result but I do feel very disappointed.

Thinking about AW leaving and knowing it's gonna happen in 2 weeks is a huge bonus though.

can't think of any players worth keeping anymore, i've never felt this before as an Arsenal fan. club has been left in a mess by such a complacent, arrogant manager and total hands-off approach from board level

He couldn't win in Europe with one of the best teams assembled at AFC, he wasn't going to do it with one of the worst. His team, his players, his coaching staff, his wage structure...and he failed...AGAIN!!

Athletico are not all that either....if they were in the PL they would be between 6 -8th I would imagine. They defend very well, but who doesn't compared to us?

Oh well there's still the "Thank You" plane & Sunday's jamboree to look forward to :barscarf: :barscarf:

I watched the other semi, I would have to go to the pub to see Arsenal match and I just couldn't waste good beer on that shower of *word censored*. I like beer and I wouldn't let them ruin it for me. Seriously.

Mustafi goes to ground at every given opportunity and you know that no one ever tells him not to. He seems to have most of the attributes of a defender except that of a brain - funny that seem to be the case with a lot of Wenger players.

On the other hand, Chambers played pretty well tonight considering the lack of protection from the midfield.

The only positive I can take from that game is that I screamed and shouted the most during a game for about 5 years!

I can feel the passion returning for me! Roll on the 2018/19 Season!

Same as that - I was going mental in the second half urging the team to go forward, and it has been a long time since I was into a game like that.

To echo what others have said, ramsey, bellend, monreal, mustafi and xhaka were absolutely shit. Wellshit and lacazette are totally brainless and dont know how or where to make runs - so many times the useless c.unts came running out to meet the guy coming forward with the ball, and gave the midfielders nowhere to go
For the record AGAIN, ozil has to be fcuked out of our club on day 1 of the next transfer window - I dont care if people say it is cos he is lazy or it is cos he is playing with too many shit players, but either way he is robbing us blind by trousering 350k for performances like that, and we should get rid.

Chambers for me was the best player we had bar none. Wilshere looked good going forward (not so good defensively) but how he took him off ahead of wellshit is beyond me  :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Finally I have to say that my heart goes out to kos - he isnt the best defender ever, and he has way too many brain farts for my liking, but he always gives his best for the team and it is tragic that he has suffered an injury like that

Agreed - thought Chambers was a credit tonight. Got skinned all ends up once but generally did really well in a few stretched situations.
