THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

All those opportunities he was given to leave with an FA Cup and instead it's going to end in a whimper at Huddersfield - a game that on current form we'll probably lose.

£1,800 to say goodbye to an average manager?
crazy innit.

they are going to look very fucking silly paying 1800 nicker to enter a half empty stadium.

would you go and watch that complete weapon do a lap of honour ?

I wouldn't.
i wouldn't even pay £18 to save his life, let alone £1800 to say goodbye to the useless cretin.

Probably because he knows that Rui will be on a secret mission to fail. That would be a terrible appointment except for those who want to start the Kroenke Out bandwagon going early.

Do you think this thread will continue after he leaves. I think we will take an interest in who he manages next. Anyway what a shit way to end his career at Arsenal but the next manager knows he has a tough job on his hands.
After Wenger leaves the pressure will ramp up on the players and the board. It's becoming clear that the Kroenke way is downwards.
We have to hope that Gazidis and his new team deliver the players and the manager we need. I was very impressed with the Greek kid so there is hope.

Nothing sums up Wenger 2009-2018 more than his last six games in charge..
1.Atletico at home, dominate possession against ten men huff and puff around the opposition area , score but the fuck it up with three defensive mistakes in one. AW then contradicts himself in press conference saying playing against ten men is difficult.
2 . Man Utd away..They have fallen but nowhere near as much as us..They were once the benchmark team now despite being average we are well behind them
3. Atletico away...A big clusterfuck of nothing..chronic defending and gutless attacking.
4. Burnley at home , the team we really left Highbury to compete with..Bayern, Barca? No the other B Burnley. Big love in from the believers planned.
5. Leicester away. Up against the small club that didn't read the script, didn't worry about financial doping . Yes there was a freak element to their title win, but fuck it they won it. Arsene and Arsenal sat on their hands confident we couldn't win it..and therefore we didn't.
6. Huddersfield away...No recent history between the clubs apart from a few cup ties but the historical link defined when Arsenal became a truly big club..Herbert Chapman was before his time in ideas and innovation.
He made Arsenal a club renowned worldwide and his successors were guardians of our history. Some succeeded and some failed. Wenger succeeded for ten years ,What he gave us as Arsenal and football fans was amazing..It would be revisionist to say otherwise. But his legacy will be forever tainted because of his final ten or so years. That is why I cannot join in his long goodbye and adulation.

So for the Burnley game
A guard of honour at the start ( if Burnley play ball)
Presentations for Mertesacker, Akers, and i would think Wenger
Red and white T shirts with “ Merci Arsene” on them Got too have one of those :censored: maybe they should read
“Mercy Arsene” or “Merde Arsene” Then the players walkabout where the Akb’s and little girls can blow kisses at the likes of Bellerin and Ramsey....makes you wanna puke :censored:

I wonder who from the "100 club" wasn't invited :rubchin:
David O'Leary
Dennis Bergkamp
Paul Merson
Alan Smith
Steve Bould :D
You sure you got the right 100 club there?
Yes, the 100 club that recognises retired players with 100+ league appearances for The Arsenal. Not players who have scored 100 goals.

I for one will be watching TOF at his new club very closely as I want the miserable old bastard to fail spectacularly. I want him to be highlighted as the fuckwit he really is. I can't wait for the day when one of those miserable cu.nt pundits turns around and says - after Newtown Arsene FC has just displayed a defensive masterclass in another six goal drubbing - you know what, maybe some of those Arsenal fans who called TOF out c.2010 had a point. The thing is these so called experts hate being proved wrong and that is exactly what we did - we called out TOF when it became obvious he was more concerned about looking clever with his wanky little projects than about putting together a proper team. We've all played football (most of us badly) and we've watched football for decades so guess what....we do kind of know what we're on about and we can certainly recognise shit when we see it. They are just embarrassed at having to play catch up with us on the subject.

If Stan gave him £100m tomorrow (ha ha) he would go and spunk it on another couple of forward players without a moments thought to what we actually need. No danger that the twat would buy a proper DM or keeper with it. If he did mind we would only end up with another Mustafi so either way we can't win.

Loved the suggestion that somebody mentioned about printing this thread and delivering it to TOF, what a great leaving present that would be. But then we would all be classed as a bunch of deluded idiots because as we all know there has only been one view at our club these last years and all the 'In wenker we trust' bollox has only served to feed his massive ego. Well thank fuck it's nearly over, I will be out of the ground a few minutes before the end this weekend to avoid the hypocritical wankfest although I am hoping that the place empties out instead.

How many hours til he goes?

wherever he goes, he will not get the money he would need not to fail.

if he was smart he'd take an upstairs job - thank god they didn't offer him one with us - but I don't think his ego will allow that.

I think he'll end up in China or the Gulf for the money.

there's no way he would survive a season in The Championship even, let alone the PL.
