Well they cant give him a copy of the European CupClash wrote: ↑Sun May 06, 2018 6:17 pmJust posted in the Burnley thread about Wenger being given the trophy. I thinks its wrong because it was a team effort and we all played our part. Players, fans, management etc.Bradywasking wrote: ↑Sun May 06, 2018 6:13 pmYes, from The Emirates at least, with the Gold Premier League Trophy won by the Invincibles for being Invincible as a parting gift..
Its not healthy to make too much about one man ... but that sort of sums up what the club has been about for the last decade at least.

It's a pity Jim Bowen died a few weeks ago. They could have had him there today with the European Cup saying to Wenger ''this is what you could've won''

Yes 100% agree....2003/4 was one season out of 22..It was a special season for ALL of us..Now the only memento officially produced to remember it belongs to one man. No problem with him getting a big presentation but not that..Clash wrote: ↑Sun May 06, 2018 6:17 pmJust posted in the Burnley thread about Wenger being given the trophy. " truly honoured to play in your last game at the stadium you built " from the official Twitter account of Hector Bellerin..
Another one in for an extremely rude awakening, he won't know what hit him.

I think most of us have long accepted that these spineless c.unt players loyalty is to the manager not the club - I'm not sure how long d*ckheads like bellend will stay around if their comfortable life gets blown apart

Bet Luke Shaw wishes he had joined Arsenal inst as of United. Must be imagining the easy ride he would have got.Bradywasking wrote: ↑Mon May 07, 2018 9:33 am" truly honoured to play in your last game at the stadium you built " from the official Twitter account of Hector Bellerin..

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
Giving him a Gold replica PL Cup has taken the club over 14 years to present for the Invicibles, I really just cannot see the merit in that and I am not digging AW out, what the fuck do we know?
I hope he enjoys whatever he sets out to do, has been a good servant of the club and no doubt has made his mark in Arsenal history...
Sour grapes aside for the last decade, au revior!.....

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
I found yesterday nauseating, however inevitable it was that he would be given that type of hyperbolic send-off.
Although it wasn't appropriate to present him with the golden invincibles trophy (which was a team achievement), I was relieved that nothing more ostentateous was given to him. I had feared the "Arsene Wenger Stand" was going to be unveiled as happened with Fergie on his last day in the job, or that he would have been given a testimonial match to swell his retirement fund
I am resigned to the fact he is going to get a statue outside the ground at some point, but apart from that let's just move on from him now.

Will they have him with his head in his hands, or squatting pitch side looking like he is desperately trying to force out a stubborn poo ?Bob Bayliss wrote: ↑Mon May 07, 2018 4:38 pmI found yesterday nauseating, however inevitable it was that he would be given that type of hyperbolic send-off.

I want the next manager to win the EL next season (in his first season) to show that Arsenal can win European trophies and it's Wenger who can't.

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
I hope that once he goes we can get a bit of perspective back about his achievements , and start to remember again some of the other great managers such as Herbert Chapman and George Graham which helped to shape the club.
the thing that particularly annoys me is the AKBs going on about how Wenger got Arsenal on the international stage and made the club a global presence
1) Arsenal due to their huge success in the 1930s became known all over the world.
In 1934 the Battle of Highbury was effectively the real World Cup Final and featured 7 Arsenal players playing for England.
2) Under Wenger Arsenal never won a European trophy, and in the last decade have largely become a laughing stock of the Champions League.
Ok we have maybe got a few more Asian fans, but the way football has gone we would have had those anyway - and a lot more too if we had actually been competing for the major honours!
