As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
It would be encouraging if we were to appoint Allegri, but my head tells me that we won't.
Surely it is a step backwards for him? I see that he is being linked with Chelsea. That makes more sense.
It is reported that we will make an announcement before the WC. When are ST renewals due?
Even Ray Parlour is mentioning the need of 200mil transfer kitty. The PR dept are already instilling that into our conscience.
Sad to say, we have heard guff in the past, and this stinks of the same.
We will probably end up with El Tel, cheese on toast face or Dave Jones.
we will have a chance of signing him IF we show some ambition and don't dither.
I feel if we don't get him this week we might well lose out to Chelsea - who certainly will not mess about.
Got a horrible feeling we still might end up with Arteta.
That's what i believe.Chelsea have had a poor season yet are still ahead of our shower of shite. But as they proved last year they can turn it on with a top class manager, We on the other hand have a piss poor squad which will need 6/7 signings even to compete for top 4. The awarding of long term contracts to bang average players like Chambers Holding and Elneny doesnt bode well.Allegri is the top choice but he will want money to improve our squad. Why would he leave Juve for a club who havent won a meaningful trophy for 14 years.Pep didnt leave Barca to join Schalke he joined the best club in Germany
Arteta will be our Moyes managing a club way to big for him
Absolutely 100% do not want to wait until Conte leaves Chelsea (which he will) to be appointing somebody. We’ve got a free run at the moment. Get it done!

It is done of course it is, we can announce it yet though as the manager has games to play (meaningful ones) and it cant ruin their season
All this talk of us being miles off challenging meaning we cant get a top manager are nonsense, yes our crown has slipped a fair way but we are still a top draw club revered around the world, the draw of managing Arsenal im sure is still one that appeals to pretty much any manager out there, for a start they know they will be given time, and I think next season top 4 is more than attainable then a challenge for the title the season after,we aren't that Bad,its only wenger that has made us look this bad

Yeah Kroenke is going to put his hand in his pocket and give the new manager the £300m plus to buy the players we need.Pep didnt wave his magic wand to make Man City what they are. He spent £400m. We are that bad my friend look at the league table

I think that you are getting carried away with yourself for two reasons -
1. We are where we are largely (but not solely) because of the manager - the outgoing fool cannot set up a team, doesnt do tactics, doesnt plan for opposition strengths, and certainly cannot motivate or discipline his players. Any half decent manager would have us performing A LOT better than le cock
2. There is no doubt that we are miles behind citeeh, but are we that far (on paper) behind the rest ? Personally I dont think that we are - manure and the victims havent got a good back 4 between the two of them, and the victims havent had a good enough keeper for years. I would also suggest that if you swapped cech for de gea, manure would be down battling with burnley to finish 6th. The scum are (on paper) the second best team in the league, but are they an outstanding and unbeatable team ? Again I would say not. In my opinion (with the right manager) it wouldnt take a huge amount to catch up/overtake the teams below citeeh, but that is as much down to their weaknesses as anything else

HOW DID LEICESTER WIN THE LEAGUE ?????and all that after only beating the drop on the last day of the season before! yes a freak season but it goes to show that a decent manager with decent enough players can go a long long way
I still think we’ll bring in a ‘nobody’. Our club doesn’t have ambition, we changed manager because the empty stadium threatens sponsorship etc. Mislintat and the other guy we bought in are top drawer supposedly but they wouldn’t have come to Arsenal if we planned to appoint a big name manager, I’m not sure that is ambition, more like a sound business decision! I think we’ll go for a coach not a manager. Prepare to be disappointed!!

Only into the minds of the fools who are stupid enough to pay attention
Look, the vast majority of Gooners know that we are miles away from really challenging for the top trophies. All this talk of a need for a £200m kitty is ridiculous cos it is coming from the notion that we can go from 6th place to serious contender overnight I dont want or need the next manager to do a quick overnight fix - I want the next manager to do a proper rebuild and that will take 2 or 3 seasons, so he should be given the time to do that, and that means bringing in quality players in each of those seasons as opposed to splashing £200m in one transfer window trying to fix everything in 1 go
The very same fools who believe the mantra that getting into the top 4 is seen as successful.
Repeat it enough and it becomes gospel
This is why I think we will get Allegri. Gazidis is in control now so everything we do next season will be down to him.
Kroenke did not want to get rid of Wenger and has done so to get us back into the Champions League not to challenge for the title.
If Arsene was sacked and we went for a Viera and he failed then the pressure would be on Gazidis straight away. Arsenal do not have 3 years to wait for the team to come good our fans are hungry for success. If Allegri joined and failed then at least Gazidis could say we replaced Arsene with one of Europes top managers. This doesn't feel like the time to take a gamble. Our downward motion has to stop because we will lose sponsorship deals and the Emirates will still contain plenty of empty seats.
That's why I think we have already have the deal in place. I could be very wrong.
He's a right sneaky twatt - he's hoping that should they be allowed to stay (and continue riding the gravy train) - He will have people inside to keep him up-to-date on everything and perhaps even usurp what the new manager is doing...Paranoid?? I don't think so, Wenger as we all know has been sacked/let go - had he not been he would still be here next season - taking our downward spiralling club to even lower embarrassing depths....
Kick him and all the otherCUNTS out! It MUST be a Clean Sweep - 100%
