Arsenal not close to appointing new manager. No agreement yet on chosen candidate, negotiations at relatively early stage, thorough process ongoing, next week looks unrealistic. Once decided, IG/RS/SM will present recommendation to #AFC board. Arteta among names being considered

Sounds about right.. spend weeks we don't have dithering then go with a total rookie underwhelming appointment who will play along with Kroenke and the board, a bit like Wenger did.
Let's see how ambitious Wiggy and co truely are?
If they. Want CL then it has to be Maximus Decimus Meridius, no disrespect, but trainee managers are not what we need Vieira et al!..
I honestly couldn't see myself getting the slightest bit excited if we appoint Arteta. An absolute joke of an appointment if it does happen, to be quite honest. May as well have kept Wenger for a few more years if Arteta is the fucking option!
You know what, I'm going to go out on a limb here and say now that it's not going to be Arteta (the power of positive thinking ). The primary reasons I believe (hope, pray, beg) that it's not Arteta is because of the very reasons Wenger was sacaked. Money. Image etc. Two years on the bounce we have missed out on the sweet cash-cow that is the Champions League, we have seen a consistently half empty stadium due to piss-poor results and such a cataclysmic disaster of a League season. All of this costs money, it loses potential business and the Arsenal board will not want to continue losing money when there is money to be made. Consider the fact that Spurs have a brand new stadium and get results at the moment, Arsenal won't want the business going down the road. Appointing Arteta would continue to split the fans, it will keep Arsenal in the small time light even more so. That would be too much of a risk for the board to take following this season.
Also, it does seem incredibly unlikely that Arsenal wouldn't basically clear out the entire backroom team NOW if it was Arteta - a man who doesn't exactly have ''people'' to appoint.
If it does end up being Arteta, and it goes wrong, it opens up the board up to huge protests against them with them probably being ousted eventually. AW will not be there to be their shield. I'm not sure they would open themselves to that.
Seeing how the Club seem to enjoy making decisions that us lot hate, then you better hope they don't take a look at this poll, because just to piss every one of us off......they'll appoint Nagelsmann.
