Just say 6 months from now our problems still persist because we hired a Wenger disciple and soft touch, and we are in the sh.. and the pundits & our board try to placate the Arsenal fans by saying 'it was impossible to have foreseen these bad results, and that Arteta deserves time'First of all, so many see it - the calamity of Arteta as manager, that it wont be hindsight when things turn to shit.

Second, if Arteta wants the job, then he needs to take the expectation that goes with it. None of this 'needing time' shit. Because Arteta has no track record to compare against, you cant ask the fans to wait for something that may never happen (a competitive team) because he has never managed before. If Allegri got off to a slow start we could give him an exemption because we have seen his accomplishments at Juventus, but Arteta has absolutely no goodwill at all. So I dont want any fuking idiot pundit saying Arteta deserves time. You cant say Arteta deserves time when never even deserved the fucking job the first place.

That *word censored* Gazidis really is the leech so many thought he was. And to think I atually thought he wanted to move forward but was constrained by Wenger. Turns out all along he is just another free loader trying to stay on the gravy train as long as possible.

with the situation that's brewing I don't know why we don't just move for Conte, would be a seamless transition for him,why go for Arteta when there are quality managers available,Arsenal is a joke end of

I don't know why but I have a strong feeling that all this Arteta talk is just a smokescreen to keep the attention away from the real negotiations. Sacking half of the backroom staff and appointing no mark manager just doesn't make any sense.

Good read about hiring Arteta. Again, that appointment wouldn't make any sense.

I think the biggest issue is still Wenger! Even now he has gone he is affecting us. The ‘board’ are so intent on a new guy not having power that they are going the other way and looking for just a ‘coach’ who will accept Gazidis making the decisions along with Mislintat sorting all transfers and sanehlli sorting contracts, all employees etc. Rather than going middle ground we are going to the other extreme and therefore do not want an established manager. This basically leaves Arteta or Vieira to come in and City won’t let Paddy go anyway.
It’s a massive decision, I think mostly based on past mistakes not on ambition and forward thinking! It could work out well, and it could be disastrous....Gazidis is putting his job on the line going for Arteta.

It won't be Arteta. I am so confident of this that if they do appoint him I will post the photos that Rodders sent me of him celebrating in his village naked and semi erect the day Wenger left.

Good start...couple of Wenger's gravy train mates on the way out including the head of the medical team. Players will be breathing a sigh of relief I bet. If your main medical man was any good you would keep him wouldn't you???....leaving the door open for the new manager to appoint his own staff but who would a guy like Arteta appoint?? Who does he even know? Unless the club intend appointing his staff?

Hoping to see Boro Primorac's name there very soon.

With the names now being talked about I really don’t know why we don’t just go for someone like Sean Dyche. Chris Sutton mentioned this on radio 5 earlier - he also absolutely slated possibly appointing Arteta.
If we appointed Dyche, Arsenals status as a big club would be over. If Dyche is the best English manager around right now, is it no surprise we always do fuck all in European Championships and World Cups.

Burnley scored 36 goals this season. Yes 36 fucking goals.

Ohh my fucking life, Arteta now odds on.

^^ This.

I know SteveO has had a season long love in with Dyche and referencing the GG appointment as justification but two things have to be accepted there:

1. Dyche ain't no George Graham.
2. SteveO is fucked in the head.

Any particular reason why Ancelotti has completely dropped out of the picture?

Suggestion is he would want a ton of money to spend. As would Enrique.

If Conte leaves CSKA or rather when, after the Cup Final, Arsenal would be insane not to sound him out.

Also think Dyche would be better than Arteta. To appoint a guy who has not managed before is just too big a risk. If it is him then I’d back him all the way but given there are other options, we should take them.

Even this Nagelsmann guy has some track record.

I know the argument that great players dont make great managers. But great players command respect. Gerrard would walk into that Rangers dressing room and the players would be in awe. Patrick Vieira would have the same appeal here, & Zidane did it at Real Madrid. Arteta was a no more than decent player for a couple of seasons, before playing on two years too long and in those two years being absolute rubbish. Arteta could not command the respect of his former team mates who were better players than he was.

Arteta has no pedigree as a football figure. He doesn't inspire the fans, & his name isnt symbolic with greatness. He is just a nothing entity.

This club is about to make a horrible mistake, and my biggest fear, is that rather than rectify it when it goes tits up, they will persevere and the damage done could reverberate for years and years. it could even be the case that the top 6 is our new top 4 and finishing below Tottenham becomes the new normal.
