THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

When this thread eventually gets locked, it will be amusing if a mod was to occasionally post a contestable point of view on Wenger, then lock it again.
Augie would hate that

To be honest I wouldnt just lock it, I would delete it altogether - appointing arteta will be an absolute disaster imo, but regardless I would still prefer to cleanse this place of any mention of the senile arrogant c.unt, and I propose that his name be automatically asterix'd out anytime anyone types his name. Failing that, can I suggest that we ban anyone who mentions his name on here 8)
Surely no!

In years to come the monster that Wenger became will be airbrushed out of mainstream history. We've already seen this in the last few weeks.

This thread needs to be preserved. It is an accurate, historic and possibly unique 10 year record of what genuine fans thought about the real Wenger.

Lewing getting sacked is a shocker and long long overdue.

That shows to me that someone was paying attention to our dreadful medical record, and gives me hope a bit.

Colin Lewin axed by Arsenal. Other medical staff asked to re-apply for their jobs. Club doctor Gary O’Driscoll assume’s Lewin’s role - for now. https://t.co/Hge78F3zBR via @MailSport

To be fair our injury record over the last year or so has been much improved.

Wonder why they would be getting rid of all of the staff if they're bringing in Arteta though? Must be about to appoint a manager who will come with his own backroom staff surely.

This would make so much sense that it has to be so. If they appoint Arteta he won't bring anybody with him.

Bould weighing up his options I spat my coffee out at that one ,lets see those options .
1.Have a Job
2.Don't have a Job

7years of hand wringing experience under wenger is worth 10 mins as a boil on sam allardyces bottom or 30 seconds as pep g's toothpick !

More worryingly is that the manager has been decided and its Arteta ,otherwise Gazidis wouldn't be offering them Jobs !

I could even accept that scenario as long as arteta isnt manager

Are you 100% against from the get go Augie or would you be prepared to wipe the slate clean and see where we go under him? I won't lie I'll be disappointed if/when he's announced but once the dust has settled I'm willing to throw my weight behind him and the team and see what unfolds.

Underwhelming but who knows eh?

100% against from the get go - after years of decline under a guy that was way past his selly by date, expecting a guy with ZERO experience to sort it out, is a disgraceful decision and totally unacceptable to me
