The curse of the captain's armband

The curse of the captain's armband

Post by Nos89 »

It seems anyone who wears it is retired or leaves the club. Cesc, RvP, Arteta, Metesacker, Gibbs, Walcott and Wilshere. Did anyone else notice that when Ramsey was handed the armband against Stoke he didn't put it on his arm, he held it in his hand?
Only Koscielny has escaped the curse.
No one wants to be the captain's of The Arsenal, how sad.

Or maybe none of them have the bollocks to be Arsenal captain?

The simple truth of the matter. That and the fact that TOF has continually talked the role down over the years. And the old fucker never buys the kind of DM we have needed for years who would probably have the right stuff for the role.

I think Vermaelen is happy how things turned out.

Lucky or not. He wouldn’t be looking back. I rated him and thought he’d make a good 6. Anyhow

I rated him too. he was much much better before he joined us and for Belgium.

TV couldn't adjust to the disastrous 'zonal marking' that the ex-manager insisted on.

the ex-manager also completely effed up by not buying Vertonghen too and making them a pairing.

we wasted his talent, just like we did with Pod, Ox etc and look at Gnabry - we offload him to Werder Bremen for 2.5million and Bayern Munch buy him for 15million.

He hasn't actually played for them though...

yeah, he's been on loan at Hoffenheim. but he's made the German Team and scored too.

but the ex-manager didn't rate him. and lost a potential 12.5 million in the process :banghead:
