Emery:

“Fans want their emotions to come to the surface,” he says. “How? By their team transmitting intensity, attacking, scoring goals, competing, winning. That awakens them. You have to win. You have to generate ilusión.”

“Football is emotion. There’s an economic [imperative] but what fans really want is to enjoy their team. If you have money but don’t generate feeling, it’s worthless. You play the Champions League but get knocked out in the group, losing all your games, and [the fan says:] ‘Sure, you’ve made €20m, but that means nothing to me.’”

Thought it was all about finishing in the top 4, or so we was told by Le Fraud.
It is if you owe 420 million on a new stadium, thankfully we dont have that problem any more thanks to Lefraud

Maybe I'm petty, but if I was Emery I wouldn't let John Cross anywhere near the Emirates after that hatchet job in The Mirror. All I can think is that Cross must have had big money on Arteta to get the job :?
That fucker was banging on and on about Arteta and was proved to be wrong. Now his feelings are hurt and he has the balls to criticize Emery. What an absolute melt that shitbag is. Bet he's also whining because he knows his chord to Arsenal is now gone. Hopefully first thing Emery does is to tell Cross to fuck off.

Im so fucking hyped I could shed couple of tears out of joy. We are going to get a very good manager. Forget about the one game against Barca, he has enough proof to be regarded top tier manager. The more you read about him the more you like him. Of course the past doesn't mean shit as he has massive task on front of him wiping the stink of Wenger and his disciples out of the club.

As I said a week ago I still firmly believe that Arteta was more of a smokescreen. Maybe they had talks with him to appoint him as number 2. Maybe. Because it doesn't matter how you think about it but appointing Arteta as a manager doesn't make any sense at all. We have very professional backroom staff in Mislintat and Sanllehi and I refuse to believe that they are so stupid that they'd appoint someone like Arteta. It just doesn't make any sense.

The future starts now and the hype is real. Haven't been this excited for years, maybe never during Wengers time. I couldn't give a one fuck about WC, I just wait for PL season to start again.

According to The Sun, Emery delivered a presentation to Arsenal’s board two weeks ago, which included an in-depth analysis of every player at the club. And during his interview, Emery made it clear that both Ramsey and Aubameyang will be integral to his plans ahead of the new campaign.

The report claims that Arsenal’s chief executive Ivan Gazidis and his recruitment team were left ‘gobsmacked’ by Emery’s attention to detail and his forensic knowledge of the squad.

A source close to Arsenal told The Sun: ‘He knew more about the Arsenal squad and every relevant detail about their career path and injury histories than people who had been at the club for years. ‘They’d no idea where he had gathered his information but they were mesmerised by the vision he put before them.’
this guy just sounds better and better - its a bit off that an outsider knew more about the squad than the club though. no wonder a load of them got the sack.

What has me smiling is the fact that Emery seems like a man who truly cares about moving forward. The man evidently put in a lot of work and a lot of hours researching and learning about the history of our squad in such away that wowed the powers that be at the club and that's the most exciting thing about it. It's extremely exciting to be getting a manager who appears to be extremely meticulous in the details of a squad of players that are not even his (at the the time of the interview) and coupled with the stories that he does his own video analysis, provides the players with individual USB's of tactical analysis to watch, it is very exciting.

I hope it works out because, and it goes without saying, I want us to be successful; However, I want Emery to do well because he does seem like a guy who puts a lot of detail and effort into his work, he seems to be a manager who actually gives a crap about winning and also cares about what the fans want.

I'm very pleased that Unai Emery will be our new manager!

his salary is 5 million - same as Allegri's and way way below the ex-managers. which just shows how much he was overpaid by the Board.

I hope we get to see this.

Doesn't look like we'll be seeing Bould twiddling his fingers on the touchline anymore.

Fucking fantastic if we get him 8)
I've got a soft spot for Valencia and I've been over a couple of times, last time was in 2009 a 3-2 win over Almeria :barscarf: one of the things that struck me about Emery that night was how animated he was on the touchline 8) jumping around pointing and shouting his head off 8) a proper jack in the box he was.He is exactly what we need at this time.

Could you imagine him doing this to the likes of Ozil and Bellerin?

me too - I saw them play a local team CF Denia in a Friendly on holiday in 1982 when they had Mario Kempes playing for them. I've always liked them since then, forgetting the 1980 CWC Final

I've always kept an eye out for them.

new chant for Unai :

"he's here from sunny, sunny Spain, hey viva Unai Emery

he's just stepped off the bloody plane, hey viva Unai Emery,

now that wankers finally out the door, he's just a bad fucking memory,

so this year we're gonna win all four, Unai Emery, por favor...."
