The Irish have held a proper referendum - 66% majority needed for victory.
The Brexit referendum was only an advisory referendum which is why only a 50.1% majority was required. It is also why it doesn’t need to be implemented.
Are you having a laugh pal....you'd probably be happier if it was an 85% majority for everything you believe in.
It is what it is, must admit Ireland are going through some deep moral issues at the mo!
And our Theresa has wisely sidestepped the Northern Ireland abortion issue....
Politics today eh..... 8)

Well the big evil EU GDPR came into effect last Friday and no one died because of it.

I managed to get my adoptive department about 75% compliant and found out today they are going to retain my entire project team for at least one more year to bring in more implementation plans. Which is great news because 5 of my team are contracted and I was dreading telling them they were out of a job.

The EU rocks, bitches! :barscarf:
So you are feckin responsible for those shit emails.....

Wankers.... :cussing: :-P

Haha but no that's a private sector marketing thing. I work in the public sector where we try not to piss people off by spamming them. You only see our privacy and data notifications when you click into the websites. It's a different approach when greed is not your sole motivator.

no not really, just putting forward a reasonable point of view.
Reasonable from your perspective only...........you'd have been quite happy with a 50.1% majority win for Remain and that would have been that as far as the EU question was concerned. My original post was about the Irish referendum and democracy surely has to be reflected by the majority not the minority as that is kind of what democracy is about. You just wanted a 2 goal start for your team to try and make sure you won - not sure I buy into that idea
not at all. in fact it was Nigel Farage who said in May 2016 that a narrow win for Remain could well lead for calls for a second referendum. He said that "in a 52-48 referendum this would be unfinished business by a long way"

no doubt the Leavers would have kept campiagning so why are you so dismissive of Remainers continuing to campaign ?

all this "will of the people" bollocks. the EU referendum was nothing of the sort.
basically the rich elite and the right wing press have conned some of the poorest in society into believing that they would be better off with Brexit.
the lies were swallowed and that's how there was a tiny leave majority. there is no real appetite for Brexit and that is why the government has no idea how to implement it.

Because of course people can't make their own minds up. Funny how remoaners like to insult the intelligence of people who didn't vote the same way as them.

you made your minds up on something that you thought Brexit would look like.
even if Brexit happens it is unlikely to look anything like you thought that it would.

its quite funny really all you Leavers getting all pompous about voting for Brexit and how you knew what you were voting for etc etc.
what you still don't seem to get TWO years on is that Brexit still hasn't happened, and it still isn't clear what it is actually going to look like.
why are you not protesting about this ?

it just seems to me as part of the "losing" side that you are not really that bothered about what Brexit will actually look like, you are just happy to say you were on the "winning" side.

Who the fuck is this Attenburgh character? Is he likely to get into a supermarket punch up with Jenny the Skanger from the tower block and her teenaged vodka buddy Mandy, like that other mad bastard Attenborough did?

:D
