I think Lichtensteiner is a really good addition. Sort of personality and experience the club desperately needs.

On a free and should help ensure Bellerin doesn’t continue fucking about because he knows there’s nobody to take his place.

Here's hoping

Hope so. Fellaini seems a bad fit for Arsenal. Fine as a super sub but he's clearly leaving united for more game time, so would only come to be a starter. No thanks!
It'd be embarrassing if we bought him. well, not bought but you know what I mean.

Since he played there for Everton, if you don't believe me a simple Google search confirms & will educate you.

No, no, no, you don't have to thank me, not necessary.
Please point me to a single game where he played as a DM in the PL and performed to a level where he would be good enough for us.

Go on.
That's not my place to do that and that wasn't your original statement, you made a claim that said he never played there, I was just happy to show you being wrong.

Yeah and he proved to be not good enough for the DM postion hence the fact Moyes stopped playing him there and ditto Utd. That's my point. Not that I believed Fellaini was never a DM in his life.

I know he started off in that position at Standard Liege (actually he did so at CB), I'm not clueless. Don't worry.

He's 34 though, realistically how often is he going to play? Can't really see Bellerin losing much sleep over this.

Let's not re-write history DB10, many were deflated when he signed Arteta, Fellaini had a strong season that year, was linked with us, United & Chelsea, Arteta was very much the cheap option in that deflating trolley dash.

Let's not pretend otherwise to solidify a point.

Tbh I don't think I am rewriting history mate. If there was a sense of deflation it was because we did not sign the top class DM we so badly needed rather than because we missed out on Fellaini and got Arteta - it's a subtle but vital difference for my argument. I recall that deflation turning to relief that we signed Arteta rather than Fellaini.

And in fairness Fellaini has never reproduced that one good season since, whereas Arteta (while not being a world beater) was our most consistent player for the two seasons after we signed him.

I do agree though that we need someone in that midfield that can mix it when required but I'd rather that that someone can actually play a bit of ball too.

Yacine Adli has signed for Arsenal from Paris Saint-Germain, according to a report from reliable French outlet RMC Sport.

RMC report that the transfer is now a done deal, with the player signing a three-year contract with an option for an additional two. Adli was reportedly in contact with Arsenal even before Unai Emery joined the club, but undoubtedly the appointment of the man who gave him his first senior minutes can’t have hurt much.

According to recent reports, Arsenal will have to pay £223,000 in compensation to complete the signing. Although Adli is out of contract, he is still currently 17 years old, so UEFA regulations on training compensation for academy players still apply.

Arsenal had to fight off competition from Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Manchester City and Juventus to complete the signing, as well as of course from PSG, who were keen not to let one of their young talents get away.

The youngster has 20 goals contributions in 20 games for the France u17 and u18 teams. He made his PSG senior debut in May, and they gave him the award for being their outstanding youth prospect last season.

Welcome to Arsenal Yacine Adli

Shades of Fabregas about this kid, when we signed him in 2004.

Turkish outlet Yeni Akit claim Fenerbahce want to sign Lacazette. They say Lacazette isn't a part of Emery's plans & he wants to replace him with Valencia striker Rodrigo. https://t.co/XDmgJCIw5U

Read that Yaya Toure's agent is saying he will sign for a top 6 Premier League club for £1 a week. Surprised we haven't nailed that signing, maybe the stumbling point in negotiations is the size and type of birthday cake he wants.

Maybe he doesn’t want to leave our Virtual XI.

Is miles better than our actual XI to be fair.

I can't understand all this stuff about Lichsteiner being such a great buy, he's 34 not 24, we'll get what maybe two half seasons out of him.

People are so elated over the removal of Wenger they're yet again failing to see the lack of ambition being shown right now, this is supposed to be the start of a new era and yet at this moment i can't see any difference in the transfer strategy from the last one.

Mustafi and Xhaka were both seen as positive additions by most when they first arrived and look how mediocre they have been, and before the revisionists get started go read their threads and you'll see very little dissension over those purchases and i include myself in that.

I'm seriously struggling to see where the ambition lies in a 34 year old Veteran, a 17 year old prospect and if Sokratis happens a player i've seen linked with no-one else :rubchin:

I hope to fuck i'm wrong but seriously this feel so much like more of the same at the moment....

Debuchy was desperately unlucky in his time at Arsenal, in his short stint I thought he was a better defender than bellerin and had a better cross on him. Signing a 34 year old is not ideal, but there’s no transfer fee and he brings with him the experience of being part of one of the meanest defences in European football. We need that right now.

He will get game time at Arsenal and looks quite athletic for someone who is 34. Personally, I am more excited about Yacine Adli. I also hope Emery realises he has a gem in Naitland Miles, who has to be deployed in central midfield next season.
