I find most 'fans' of the national team completely fake and its a load of faux pride BS as these are often the same people embarrassed to be English, or apologize for our past colonial misdemeanors...add in all the bandwagon jumpers who haven't got a facking clue about football, but want to be seen as into it as its in the media all the time cos its the world cup, it makes it even worse. you don't get these cretins at a cricket world cup, as its not seen as fashionable.

i like world cups and euros for the experience of seeing different teams (not that international football gets me bothered), indeed i went to the euros with m8s so we could experience it. sadly we balloted an England game and it was bloody awful, scum everywhere, idiots, mouth breathers etc.

i will watch the tournament but wont want England to do well. who wants harry kane lifting the world cup? they don't represent England, they represent themselves.

Yes 100% agree..The mouthy pub fucks who sing the stupid "Oireland's Call " one week watching the rugger because "its like about uniting all the country you know" and the next week sing sectarian songs about Rangers..and it's not irony it's unadulterated hypocrisy..Same as the Victim fan I worked with who didn't know who to support when The Dippers played Celtic. Watching International football does nothing for me ,I can get into the tournament knock out phases but the group stages and even worse the qualifying campaigns are tedious But a Spurs , United or Victim player playing for any international team is still a Spurs , United or Victim player...

I don't rate Southgate at all and am fully convinced this England team will be a disaster at the world cup and your media will hound him out of the job... as they do....

Have to say I was mildly impressed with his response when some brain dead no mark football "reporter" at the press day tried to lay all of England's previous failures on the players being "bored" whilst at the tournament....

Southgate shot that line of horseshit down in no uncertain terms. Was refreshing to see a manager actually say what he thinks. Fair fucks to him.

A sports data company have run a load of simulations and has worked out England have a 4% chance of winning the cup (surprised it is that high).

We have a 71% chance of getting out the group - Tunisia, Panama and Belgium. I reckon that is fair.
Then a 41% chance of reaching the quarters as we would play Poland, Senegal, Colombia or Japan. Seems fair.

It goes down hill rapidly after that as we could get Brazil or Germany it the quarters.
