We need to spend wisely so it looks like we will buy youngsters or oldies on a free ,that's ok with me !
In Emry, sven, ivan,or whoever we have to trust .!

Torriera and Soyuncu strongly linked in the meeja. Think they're our next 2 signings following Lichtsteiner and Papastathopoulos.

Still need a GK and wide player and then we're set.

Sell Mustafi, Iwobi, one of Chambers and Holding, Perez, Ospina and possibly Xhaka.

Call me old fashioned but I like my DM's to be taller than 5ft 8" - I know that people will point to kante as proof that smaller DM's can work, but is there anybody that believes that he was as effective last year without the powerful matic behind him ? In a team totally devoid of physicality like we are (and the chavs are not), we need a bigger more physical DM instead of a smaller guy who bases his game on interceptions, perpetual movement, and hassling opponents all the time.

Sadly I dont see the club selling iwobi or xhaka this summer, and I think that chambers and/or holding will only go out on loan. Ospina and perez will go but their sales wont bring in much money

Only Mascherano in the modern age sticks out as a midget dm . 6 foot is about right to help win headers at set pieces as well as the hole between the midfield in front of the back four. Mobility and good tackle timing essential or else be like Gilberto who had the art of a sly foul and knew just when to get a toe poke in.

Best DM in memory, Makelele, was 5'6.

Lads like Sokratis will deal with the aerial battles.

I actually think that Mustafi could play DM, and I also think that with coaching Holding and possibly even Chambers can make it as defenders .
Bellerin might still be the defensive savior that he was before he was told not to defend ,that leaves only the left back.
Coaching is what they all need need ,and lots of it !
Talking of coaching why does the website still show all the people I thought were sacked ,including boro, johnson, peyton ,banfield etc ???

Best DM by a mile was PV14. Pace, power, athletism, ability to shield the back 4 turn defence into attack, run with the ball. He had the lot. Ohh and he was 6ft plus.

I also think that, with the correct coaching, Kolasinaic and Xhaka could be improved immensely or even re-invented? I'd keep hold of Holding all day long. Perez too, come to that.
I really think that there are players in the squad whom will realise their potential with Dick, as opposed to TOF.
A keeper is a must, (isn't Pope available for £20-25m?).
A defence that is drilled to defend and not turn backs on a shot/cross. Zonal marking is a no go too.
Get rid of Jack and Aaron to boost the coffers. Perhaps even rid of Lacazette for the same reason. Oh, and Welbeck too.
Oh, and as for Bellend - I was ignored as a hipster at the Canadian Grand Prix. Pleas God, where are the Barcawhores when you need them?

Sky Italia say talks ongoing between #Arsenal & Sampdoria regarding Lucas Torreira. #Arsenal willing to pay €30m over several years to avoid having to pay his €25m buyout clause upfront. https://t.co/NPuFcmEJu8

People seem to forget that the likes of makelele (and kante) had big physical players alongside them, thus allowing them to play the interceptor role instead.
Again I suppose it comes down to what people define as DM, and what they want the player in that position to do - I want a big powerful DM that is strong and agressive in the tackle and intimidates opposition players. Players like gilberto and makelele play more the shield in front of the back 4 role, and dont bring enough physicality to the table for my liking

height doesn't really have a bearing on physicality, look at keane and scholes.

anyway, a bit perturbed ornstein hasn't tweeted since may, his is the opinion i'm holding out for if we're gonna announce anymore signings soon. he's been quiet foe a while now, seems to sokratis thing really should go through, question is when?

Seriously confused by some comments on here, go back to last season and Mustafi and Xhaka were slated as not fit to wear the shirt multiple times on different match threads throughout the season, now with a 'bit' of coaching they're going to be ok... which is it?

Mustafi, Iwobi and Xhaka should be shown the door to make room and funds for other players, it's not just their inability to play that is a problem but their lack of attitude and fight when the going got tough, and to be honest Bellerin is pushing that line too.

Most said time and time again that when Wenger went there needed to be a clear out of his highly paid snowflakes, so can i ask exactly what has changed for some of you because i seriously can't see Emery improving the attitude of some of these players even if he improves the tactics, and if i'm honest i'd add Ozil to the list as well.

Throughout his tenure here one of the big bugbears of people was the poor quality players he kept buying and keeping for far too long even when they were shown to be not good enough but now a new manager has come in people are ok with those same players staying, sorry but i just dont get that and why there has been this sudden turn around in how people feel about certain players. :rubchin:

I want to see UE come in a refresh the team and put his own stamp on things but it seems some want him just to revamp Wenger's left overs, i know it takes more than one season to turn things around but just remember this is the same group of players barring one or two who didn't pick up a single away point in 2018 until the last game of the season :banghead:
