Arsenal's Spanish right-back Hector Bellerin, 23, has been told he is one of just five players that new Gunners boss Unai Emery does not want to sell. (Mirror)
I saw that article - courtesy of John Cross so in fairness it's all guess work :D

It does however just about sum up the mess that TOF left behind.....just a couple of signings away from a title :banghead:

So far Emery has signed an experienced right back to be used sparingly, & is pushing hard for a defensive midfielder and keeper (Torrieira & Leno). Of course if Wenger was manager he would be looking at attacking midfielders. Given Wenger obsession with collecting attacking players there really isnt any need for Emery to sign players in that space. Emery is doing what Wenger should have done years ago - focus on the back end of the team.

Wenger always treated the defensive aspect of football as a chore. He neglected it & the same issues of shit defending was a constant year in year out. Emery has no doubt looked at the squad and identified players at the back as the players needed. This isnt some masterful insight by our new manager, its simply common sense logic that Wenger rejected for years.
What you've said is completely correct we are at last looking to focus on the back end of the pitch but I honestly think its more down to the transfer team we now have in place as much as Emery. I'm sure he has some kind of influence but I don't think its a massive one like before.

I suppose in a way as long as it works it doesn't really matter either way.

I've read a few people going on about us signing a 34 year old.... i've watched him twice for the swiss and to me he still looks in very good condition and pretty solid too. Right now i'd take him over that ponce Bellerin

Arsenal are closing in on the £48m double signing of Bayer Leverkusen's Germany goalkeeper Bernd Leno, 26, and Sampdoria's 22-year-old Uruguay midfielder Lucas Torreira. (Telegraph)

So that leaves a miserly £2Million if all the rumours of a £50million budget are true … Which of course they aren’t.

Arsenal's Spanish right-back Hector Bellerin, 23, has been told he is one of just five players that new Gunners boss Unai Emery does not want to sell. (Mirror)

So when is he going to start clearing out all the shyte like Iwobi, Mustafi, Wellbeck etc ??? :?
I guess he won't put any focus on that during this window. His priorities seems to be fixing our defensive side of the squad which I think is brilliant.

He'll probably have to sell to generate funds though

So true especially the bit about Le Fraud looking at attacking midfielders. He would probably have gone for Golovin or one of those AM's who are starring at the World Cup and won't do fuck all to improve us other than create more square pegs in round holes.

two reports that Wilshire is to be sold to pay for Leno and Torreira- not surprisingly, those showing the most interest are West Ham and Southampton.
