Not surprisingly there are strong links to Éver Banega due to the Emery connection. Only a €20m release clause and would be a great addition to our midfield with both Cazorla and Wilshere gone.
Arsenal boss Unai Emery has made a personal call to Sevilla's Argentine midfielder Ever Banega in an attempt to convince the 29-year-old to join the club. (Estadio Deportivo, via Mirror)
Was it Demis Rousoss that sang for ever and ever and ever I”ll beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee your love ?
Can see that making a big hit among the selfie taking, iPad holding, latte sipping, half and half scarf waving, flat cap wearing, snowflakes at the Emirates next season :barscarf:
There is an acronym for them you know. The word is "cùnts".

The question mark I have (and others will probably have the answer for this) relates to the potential/probable signings we are making, and in particular their nationality - it looks like we have so far signed a german keeper, a greek centre back and a midfielder from Uruguay plus we are strongly linked with an Argentinian midfielder and a young Turkish centre back, so how are we gonna be compliant with all these home-grown players rules ? :? You would imagine that at least one and possibly 2 centre backs would leave with one being mustafi (although a total lack of clubs rumoured to be interested is very worrying  ), but you would imagine that the other centre backs most at risk would be either chambers or holding and both are home grown players. Wilshere has already left and there is also a question mark over ramsey unless he signs a new deal soon, and they are both home grown. If we sell a striker then you would assume that wellshit will be one of the names under consideration, and suddenly we are down to a very small number of home grown players left in the squad :rubchin:

Like everyone else I like to see the home grown kids step up from the academy, but that pathway doesn't look encouraging at the mo - for sure we need some strong experienced characters who know how to win, but right now it looks like these players will be brought in from outside the league and the club. If we still comply with the registration rules then it's ok, but right now our squad seems to be bloated and the only names being linked with leaving are the home grown players

Don't know the answer to your question Augie but I know this will be laughed at but I wouldn't be surprised to see Man City signing Jack Wilshire purely on the grounds that he is English..I know it would contradict Jack's reasons for leaving Arsenal but he could be a Fabian Delph type of signing for them.

That's a very good question Augie. At the moment our home grown players are Bellerin, Holding, Chambers, Maitland-Niles, Ramsey, Iwobi and Welbeck that are potential first team players. That makes seven of them. How many we should have, six? I guess we might manage with this lot and if likes of Iwobi or/and Welbeck leaves they probably register someone from the reserves.

A lot of dosh for a 30 year old, but even at that price I would sign him ahead of banega who is a journeyman footballer imo

Top quality creative center midfielder. Did you not see his assist for Messi's goal yesterday?

He was the best Argie player in the game yesterday. :|

If he plays like that all the time Him and Torriera would make a good get stuck in kinda duo.

He's dead. His coffin needs at least 8 seats and 2 rows

Who knows if it is true or not ?

SSN reporting that the deal is still on but there is a hold up between the clubs. Money! Apparently no problems expected on Torreira's contract.
