Methinks DB10 is getting more tyrannical by the day, now i'm not saying it's little man syndrome or an inferiority complex but as some of the other more responsible Mods have slacked off, well as the saying goes 'power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely' :rubchin:

Anyway back on topic much as i'm relatively pleased with UE and whats happening so far i'm still a bit worried over the earlier comments he made about he'd rather win 4-3 than 1-0...... that attitude didn't really work well before now and caused absolue calamities to abound

Papastathopoulos joins the team. Emery is doing what every man and his dog said Wenger would be doing every year for the last 10 - reinforce the back and defensive midfield position.

And those akb knobheads tried to argue that it was the board or a lack of funds that prevented him from strengthening the team - absolute bullshit and he didnt strengthen the team cos he couldnt see where it needed strengthening OR, he was too arrogant and believed that if we were super going forward it wouldnt matter how shit we were at the back
I would suggest (hope and pray) that the 3 signings to date will be big upgrades on what we already had, but I will also say that none cost major money - for years I argued that even if we didnt have billions to spend on players, wenker could have upgraded without overstretching our budget. I remember in those horrendous almunia years, we could have got shay given for fuck all, mark schwazer (sp  ) for less, and there was another premiership starting keeper (not totally sure but I think that it was either jussi guy from bolton or sorenson) who was available on a free transfer at the time - none were top, top quality I agree, but all 3 were massive upgrades on a shit keeper that only came to us cos celta vigo couldnt afford to pay the money they owed us for silvinho

Trust me if you chubby balding middle aged spackers were relying on the faux mods you would have nowhere to post all your gashtalk because this place would have been closed down long ago.

A few of our lesser posters (1989 OneDwarf etc  ) have gone into full hysterical girl mode and think they've found Christ and that Dick is somehow in league with their view of Wenger and they couldn't be more wrong. Dick has gone on record numerous times hailing Wenger as an inspiration a mentor and one of the true greats of the game. And he has spoken about his admiration for the Wenger "style".

Might be interesting to see some flip flop bipolar rants on here next April.... :D

I still believe that Emery's admiration and praise for Wenger is just a politically correct box ticking exercise. I think he was and is well aware of the mess he has to clean up after Wenger. But he can't come out and say that publically. It's modern day PC horseshit but he was always going to praise Wenger in the media.

That is probably very true. Not revealing anything negative or saying anything negative about Wenger was probably part of the package in agreement between them to get him out.

Very probable he is being polite and pc etc but he has gone beyond the level of just being respectful and politic. He has been gushing in his praise of Wenger both before he was appointed and after. It's a piddling point because he will bring his own ideas and who is to say if he really is a Wenger disciple that he won't actually be a roaring success by adding his own ideas to the Wenger style? Hopefully that will be the case.

I just get the feeling that the people on here that expect a total change from what came before are gonna be disappointed to a certain extent.

The most important thing for me is he is given time to sort it all out. It's gonna take a couple of years to clean up the post Wenger mess.
