I'm not sure exactly what Russia did wrong, there's more than one way to win a match, they knew they couldn't out play Spain so they beat them the only way they could.

Pretty narrow minded of the pundits to expect a team of Russia's expertise to go toe to toe with Spain they'd have been destroyed.... it's Wengeresque to expect every team in the world to play beautiful football when they aren't able too just for the sake of excitement. Football is a results based sport and Russia won, boring it may have been but it takes massive discipline and concentration to play that way for 120mins and then win in the penalty shoot out under that level of pressure.

Is there an expectation now that England must reach the final? After all, they are the best team among that group on a player basis.
