I think we're a winger away from having a quality squad. Hope Sven and Dick are on it.

They've done a brilliant job so far considering we're a Europa league level club at the moment and it is a World Cup summer that TOF had us all believe would make doing transfer business impossible in.
I think he will play that kid out wide - nelson is it ?

looking at the squad we have now, I think Dick rotates Ozil and Miktharyn in the #10 role, PEA starts if fit. I think Caz gets more game time, rotated with Welbeck.

Torreria starts along side Xhaka or Ramsay - one sits, one goes just like PV4 & Petit or the two Brazilians.

back four, I don't see Kos as being a starter all season - I think he rotates in chambers & Mavro. if bellerin is not fit, chambers goes RB and he could rotate in holding. Kolo's place is safe. as is Sokratis.

oddly, it now looks like we actually have a squad that is pretty deep - with just four additions.
Surely Lichtsteiner and not Chambers is second in line if Bellerin is unavailable?
I dunno mate, lichtsteiner is 34, I would hope that dependent on the opposition, Dick would bring along a young player rather than throw in a 34 yr old ?

I think he would look at the age of the back four as a whole before making that decision - maybe if one of the two CB's is injured as well as Bellerin then he goes for experience at RB ?

I reckon my thoughts are based also what I hope happens rather than what he may do

'more game time for Caz'

Who's Caz?

I agree though, will be interesting to see how we line up next season and what formation we go for

I can't believe how many years we wasted with Wenger at the helm... :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Emery is everything that Wenger isn't.

Proactive, ambitious, diligent.

This transfer window has shown up Wenger and all his fucking bullshit lies!!!

Remember every season he would say we can't sign players because of tournaments etc?

Fucking hell thank god he is gone. Would have been the same shit yet again...

Real Madrid are going to have to fill the gap left by Ronaldo. Im thinking Neymar, Hazard or Mbappe as the only viable options. Hope they get Hazard.

One thing we have going for us this year, is there is no uncertainty - no Sanchez, Nasri, Fabregas 'will he or wont he' leave hanging over any of our top players.

Can't see them being able to get Mbappe or Neymar this summer. Hazard is a possibility though.

They'll have a massive summer next year when I wouldn't be surprised if those two plus Kane and Salah are seriously linked to Real.

A goalie, a centre back, a right back and a DM all signed. What is going on?
This is what we we've been asking for, for a couple of years. I'd be happy with that now.

Leno, Lichesteiner, Sokratis, Mustafi, Kolasinic, Torreira, Xhaka, Ramsey, Ozil, Lacazette, Aubameyang and Mkhitaryan.

Maybe, Holding instead of Mustafi but that's a strong, mobile, defensive unit supplemented by a creative pacey attack with two proper goalscorers.
Things are looking good.

We're in for a good season if we can play 12 players!

Think we’ve done good business. Torreira especially is a great signing and all of the others address areas everybody on here has been crying out for for years.

Don’t thInk it’s a title-winning side by some stretch but genuinely exciting.

Spot on! I like the fact that we have focused on those areas where we've been very weak for years now. To be fair our attacking options are very capable and I feel very confident about them. We'll see how Emery gets the best out of the players because that is also needed. We are not going to win any major trophies but what I want to see is clear improvements on the pitch. Top 4 should be good enough target for Emerys first season. Oh shit, can't believe I just said that top 4 is good enough...

Ospina is pants mate, I remember quite a few howlers from him over the last few years. As an international, he should be taking over the number 1 jersey from Cech at his age. There is a reason why that hasn't happened.

England and Harry Kane must have been very happy to face him in a penalty shootout. He is nothing special.

Leno is surely our number 1 keeper at this stage, but what I am saying is that ospina (for all his faults) is a better keeper than what cech is at this stage of his career. People talk about keeping cech on for his experience, but what experience are we talking about ? His "experience" counted for jack shit last season when he was in goals himself, so I would rather keep a younger more agile keeper, than a keeper who is technically better but who is no longer able to react like he used to

yeah, i think we are done now. the rest is up to Dick and his coaching and man management.

what we've witnessed shows that the modern approach of splitting the managers duties three ways works - and we have to give some credit to Gazidis foe enforcing that change on the club even while the ex manager was there.

which means to me, whether Dick succeeds or fails that this pace of business is how we will operate going forwards.

Hard to believe that there is any credibility to this story, but he is a player that I have always rated (not top quality of course)
