Ozil will play out of his skin this season, his motivation levels must be through the roof at the minute.

Brilliant for us. An in form Ozil is the best playmaker in the business.

I’ll believe it when I see it! He’s a lazy player and took the piss last season with his regular ‘holidays’ that Wonga let him have. The good thing is, Emery won’t put up with that.

I too would question the "is the best playmaker", and suggest that maybe "WAS the best playmaker" might be more accurate - time will tell on that, but certainly right now claiming him to be the best is inaccurate

for the same reason Sanchez's form dipped in his last year - both Sanchez and Ozil were sold a lemon.

They left clubs that challenged every single year for the Champions league title, in order to compete for the 4th placed trophy.

They left playing alongside Neymar, Messi and Ronaldo to play alongside Sonogo, Iwobi and Wilshire.

I would also suspect that Real Madrid had things like tactics and coaching...

I have to say that is a pretty fair assessment of things

Does that mean we slag them for not being motivated to play alongside the likes of Sonogo, Iwobi and Co :rubchin:

Pretty shoddy homework by Sanchez, Ozil and their agents :rubchin:

Or is it all down to TOF who basically is the root of all evil

Lets be honest here and acknowledge that sanchez left barca cos they needed money to buy suarez, and ozil left madrid cos they needed money to buy the monkey bale - neither wanted to leave their clubs and both joined us cos of the money on offer, and that rather than any promises made to them was the reason they joined

Wenger isn't an excuse. In the three and a half seasons that Sanchez was here he was world class. Can anyone honestly say Özil has been world class for an extended period of time for us in the five seasons we've had him?

I've always considered him to be overrated and never really understood the ridiculous overreaction from our fanbase when we signed him on deadline day five years ago. You'd think we signed Suarez or Bale the way some of our fans carried on. Özil has yet to reach the heights that an emerging Fabregas had for us and this is supposed to be an Özil in his prime.

He's got no excuses this season. Has PEA and Lacazette for strikers, international retirement, £350k a week salary, number 10 jersey. Nothing short of a career year will suffice for me. Otherwise it's time we get rid.

I think that's fair, but I also think that their agents were motivated to move them on by the 25% cut, and five years ago our reputation in Europe was still the club of Bergkamp, Overmars, Veira, Petit, Pires, Anelka, RVP, Toure etc.

I bet both players were sold on the idea that with them The Arsenal would be great again, win the title, challenge for the ECL every year etc.

instead, we got dicked by Swansea, Norwich etc. and they both realized that the club was a mess.

Sorry mate, have to disagree re TOF, he is always an excuse  There is no way anybody can lay Sanchez being world class at wenker's door much as he would probably love to claim the credit. I bet neither Sanchez or Ozil learned a fucking thing under wenker. Rather Sanchez himself had the right attitude (mostly) and was prepared to put in a shift because of his own standards.

I wish I could say the same about Ozil. Unfortunately whenever he rolls his sleeves up it doesn't ever last for too long. He is going to turn out to be one of those players that quite honestly would probably have been better off going somewhere else where his game was better suited. I know it's going back a bit and purely speculation but I always wondered how Charlie Nicholas' career would have developed if he had gone to the bin dippers instead of us.

Seriously!!! How can you be an Arsenal supporter and not understand the reason behind his seemingly lack of motivation?
It's not always about the money and the celebrity.

The rank lunacy of Wenger's later years are epitomised by Sanchez and Ozil really.

He sells Sanchez to manure putting the players desires ahead of the team. And gives Ozil a new deal with 350k a week and then doesn't build the system around him, just keeps on wedging him into a flawed system that doesn't get the best from him.
