I don't think Emery will allow Ramsey to stay unless he signs a contract extension and can see him being shipped off to Liverpool or chelski very soon. He didn't dick about with Wilshere who had more Arsenal stock than Ramsey. Letting Ramsey go solves the dilemma of the shape and discipline of the team.

Not sure about Dembele as he was injured for large parts of last season and I can't see us equalling the £115m Barcelona paid for him. More chance of getting Mbappe if we are going to spend big money.

How soon though ? The transfer window closes at 5pm next thursday and it is a disgrace that it has been allowed drag along this far  The really worrying thing is that there is absolutely no whisper that the club are about to list him, so it isnt as if we are near a decision either

Ramsey is holding all the aces here as there isn't much that the club can do now. He can decline to be sold and risk being benched if he really wants to although you would like to think he's better than that. Given our current midfield makeup I am beginning to wonder whether we might be better off selling him and using the money to buy N'Zonzi. I quite like the idea of him sat in alongside Torreira in front of the back four. Give Lichsteiner a run out at right back and tell the full backs to defend first and foremost.

The problem with our club is for a long time we have allowed the players to hold all the aces .......... I would suggest that it is time to take control again, and not just for this situation, because the club need to lay down a firm marker to EVERY PLAYER that we will not allow bend over and let them take us up the shitter ever again  If ramsey was gonna sign then w would have had it done by now or at least heard whispers that it was very close - it is time for the club now to man up and accept that he doesnt want to sign to stay with us, and we need to move on. The transfer team need to get their heads together, agree a transfer fee that would be acceptable, and then publicly put him on the market. In my opinion this move will wrestle control back from ramsey cos it will draw a definitive line in the sand and allow us to move on, plus if ramsey refuses to go it will be a public announcement that what he wants is to let his contract run down so he can get a better financial deal for himself next summer - fans everywhere will recognise that the player is trying to screw the club over, and he would be crucified for the next 12 months.
Maybe our transfer team wont make a decision here cos they are afraid that it wont be a popular one with the fans, but if they think that allowing this saga to drag on into the season will be easier for the fans, then they havent a scooby doo - they will be absolutely lambasted if this isnt sorted by next thursday

I fully concur with that approach, it is long overdue that we get real with these overpaid tarts. Ozil and Sanchez apart we even managed to fuck up Wilshere's contract position too this summer. It's funny how the contracts for dross like Iwobi and Xhaka get sorted without any trouble yet as soon as it comes to anybody with a bit of marketability about them we struggle to get things done. I think the earlier comment that Wilshere had more stock than Ramsey isn't strictly accurate and 'the club' really want to see him stay. If this sorry saga does run beyond Thursday then we are fucked. As I said previously I think we can afford to let him go to bring in N'Zonzi but somebody is going to have to make a decision bloody quickly - which is maybe a problem when your Chief Exec is swanning about dreaming about whether to head off to Milan.

Kolasniac has been ruled out for 8-10 weeks so we now have to either rush monreal back into the team (he hasn't played this pre-season), or we play maitland niles there - I have said it before but I will say it again, sell ramsey and use the money to buy a good young left back (I still think that Tierney from celtic would be a good fit) instead of nzonzi (who I do rate). We are overstocked with centre midfielders (unless we sell the useless elninny and erratic xhaka), so we have no need for another - however we have an aging average left back in monreal, and another left back that has snail like pace (kolasniac), so it should be an area we look to upgrade asap

Jesus, what have we become! Both positions are in need of addressing and surely we have enough to get both - N'Zonzi for Ramsey and flog Perez, Jenkinson, Campbell (all surplus to requirement) and either Elneny or Xhaka which would bring in enough to fund Tierney and complete a much needed overhaul of the squad - sort out the square pegs in round holes issue. Who gives a fuck about whether we make losses on the deadwood, just get them moved on and use the proceeds constructively. Monreal is just about finished and Kolasinac is no more than a back up option at best. AMN then can be used in midfield rather than 'wherever' and we suddenly have a midfield with options and a bit of bite to it.

Tierney has been doing it for a while now and it seems a bit strange that nobody has made a move for him yet. Possibly his inexperience has made clubs cautious but by the time people wake up it'll be too late for us. There was talk of manure being interested but then talk switched to Rose instead. Tierney is going to cost in the region of £25M though and I'm not sure that we have the appetite to pay that for a left back which is unfortunate as that position would then be sorted for years to come.

Still want to see what Dick has planned for Xhaka and Iwobi given the new deals and I also want to see if Sokratis has what it takes at CB as I have a nagging doubt about him. Can't wait to get back to it next weekend though and see how things develop :barscarf:

Linked to PSG's 19 year old left back Stanley Nsoki.

Don’t think Ramsey does hold the aces. If his alternative is being rotation (at best) and having to look for a new club next season with his stock fallen through the floor that doesn’t suit him.

Embarrassing that Salah and Kane can get snapped up to new deals at clubs which are miles below their level and we are being fucked about by Ramsey.

let's hope he can flog Shkodran Mustafi or Danny Welbeck in the next few days then.

Have to say that I am surprised by this move :o Personally I rate chambers ahead of holding, but maybe dick is signing another cb and doesnt want chambers sitting on the bench or in the stands all season ? Does loaning chambers and keeping holding suggest that he rates one of them higher than the other, and if so which way do you see it ?

Normally when stories like this start to "leak out", it usually leads to the player leaving the club

Not that I'm a fan of it but I do think there's something to all these Vida links. Only way this Chambers to Fulham loan makes any sense to me.

I'm not a big Ramsey fan but if I were him and had the years in that he has at the club, I would be looking at PEA and Ozil's wages and thinking you'd better offer a damn sight more than my current £110k p/w. I would really like to know what we are offering cos I do wonder if we are taking the piss! Ramsey will have no problem getting a new club and quite probably one that has had a tendancy to do a bit better than we do.

Why? PEA has already shown the value he can add to the team. Ozil for all his temperamental floors still can win a game with a killer pass.

When have we seen Ramsey consistently produce quality moments over a long period of time where he is influencing games week in week out. From memory I think it was half a season, then he got injured. Two cup final goals added to that half a season isn't enough for him to warrant a huge rise.

As I said before Ramsey is no Bobby Pires, at least when Bobby tried a trick back in the day invariably it came off. How many times has Ramsey done the complicated thing which never comes off, only for us to lose possesion.

You are thinking from our perspective and I agree with you.........but put yourself in Ramsey's shoes and I bet he is thinking that he is worth £150 - 200k per week. I do think he will easily pick up a decent club if he decides to go as he is one of those teflon types where nothing adverse seems to stick to him and somehow he ends up with decent stats too. We find him frustrating but there are plenty who rate him highly in the game. Only a couple of days until we find out either way.
