What a shame that TOF doesn't have a new club - we could just ship all his rejects off to him - gratis.

I consider the business in the transfer window has been solid. No more no less. I would of liked Calum Chambers to of stayed, however it will probably benefit him playing in the PL with Fulham, as long as we have committed to keep for the following season.gooner265 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 09, 2018 6:12 pmThanks I thought he could was just checking , rumours are we are very close to a deal now, I forgot about Jenkinson how is he still at the club? we may as well let him go on a free as I see no market value for him so he can move to a club nearer his level.Jock Gooner wrote: ↑Thu Aug 09, 2018 5:09 pmRamsey can sign a new deal with us whenever he wants to. Media suggests a deal is close but who knows for sure.gooner265 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 09, 2018 5:06 pmDon't forget players can leave until 31st , I expect Ospina and Campbell to be gone by then surprised Wellbeck didn't get any offers as we made it clear he was for sale but expect the usual problem of too high wages for average players was an issue and I can't see him going abroad.
I agree with Augie I was disappointed Calum Chambers went as I thought he did ok last season and was hoping he would develop under Dick but I can't believe Mustafi is still here and hope Holding breaks through this year as I rate him.
I'm am fairly happy overall with our business as I want some our kids to get chance especially Nelson, AMN and Nketiah.
Question can Ramsey sign a new deal still or do we have to wait until January?
He certainly holds all the aces now and could sign for an overseas club in January if he wanted to. The fact that he wasn't shoved up for sale last minute suggests we must be reasonably sure of a deal.
I think you'll see a few shifted on next season as a lot will be playing for their futures and Dick will weed out the ones he doesn't like.
The deadwood, I understand simply cannot me shifted because of the stupid wages they are on. Arsenal would have to of paid 50% of Wellbeck's if he had or goes to Spain...

In terms of the money we’ve spent, I think we have done pretty well. Very excited to see Torreira, Guendouzi looks to be a real player, I think Lichsteiner is a great addition to the squad generally and looking at today the team. Disappointed that Leno apparently isn’t any bette than that fucking disaster who has been costing us for two years. We didn’t have loads to spend in today’s terms and we spent it on sensible areas.
Could have offloaded some more shit although realistically wouldn’t raise much money. The biggest issue I have is that he hasn’t just not sold but has actually given new deals to Xhaka and Iwobi. I feel like I’m going insane because I genuinely think they’re both fucking appalling and so far away from this level. Not hit and miss like Walcott, not polarising opinions like an Ozil-type player, just absolutely bang average.
Ramsey contract situation is a joke too. Being held to ransom by anybody is bad enough, much less somebody who has been pretty average by all accounts for nearly all of his long career with us.

Getting rid of Elneny would be good. The Sun were also talking up Ospina leaving too.
I think to get rid of Jenkinson we're going to have to leave him in a plastic bag outside another club in the hope they take him in.

If they leave him naked and without food then maybe, just maybe they'd be ready to adopt him out of pure pity.Jock Gooner wrote: ↑Tue Aug 14, 2018 6:07 pmGetting rid of Elneny would be good. The Sun were also talking up Ospina leaving too.

Re Jenkinson. I really wanted him to make it at Arsenal, I really did. Maybe I have a soft spot for him as his mother is Finnish. Or maybe because of that he is so shit as he has inherited Finnish football brains...

For me Jenko is a Gooner since childhood from a family of Gooners so I wanted him to succeed. Would be nice to see another terrace boy become a legend at the Arsenal. Oh, don't get me wrong, I also wanted him to succeed in life as he's from my old neck of the woods. However anyone who has ever seen the lad with a ball at his feet knew that he was too nervy for top tier football. When he came on at BW in the pre-season I wanted him to do well and you could hear others giving it "go on Jenks" but he just doesn't seem to have the conviction in himself required to make it at the top level. I do wonder whether a bit of decent coaching (TOFDB10GOONER wrote: ↑Wed Aug 15, 2018 12:19 pmFor me Jenko is a Gooner since childhood from a family of Gooners so I wanted him to succeed. ) and a bit more confidence in himself would do the trick or maybe he just needs to move somewhere where he can play regular football. The guy is 26 now.
Maybe I am giving both of them too much credit but I believe that GG would have made a good defender out of him - when you look at things clearly you will see similarities between jenks and a young lee Dixon, and GG turned him into a great right full
Regardless I will never slate jenkinson - he is a proper Gooner who got a chance (even if it was brief) to play for his boyhood club, and he gave the club the best he had while he was here

Ospina has gone on loan to Napoli - a good idea. a year of coaching under Ancelotti and he may be a very good back up for Leno.
it looks like Anceloti took him over Mignolet, and their #1 who they paid 22 million for broke his arm in training
Ospina will be first choice.

I've always liked Ospina.
