THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Its sad for him because he struggles to manage relationships, his so called marriage was a sham and it wouldn't surprise me at all to find out his own daughter isn't really his !

Busted flush...has been for many years. No big club would ever come in for him and even if they did I think he would create an excuse to turn it down. Whatever he is, he is not stupid, I see him as a cunning, manipulating, intolerant megalomaniac, and he knows that just one year at a top club will lay waste to his ludicrously over hyped reputation.

I think the truth is, he’s had offers from several of the top clubs in the world sent to him......but his postman....... Mr Sanogo or something like that, has missed his letterbox! 8)

He’s back to being Arsene who ? The same as he was before he arrived at our great club.

When there was speculation about him not getting the contract renewal he was all “ I will definitely manage, either here or elsewhere”, intimating that he was in great demand and we were lucky he was still considering us.

Reality kicking in a bit......

I agree with this with the exception of the last bit. I think that when he was at Arsenal, he was doing anything to cling to his job, but now that he is gone, it does appear that some self-reflection has been done. I think that he was quoted as saying that he stayed too long. I do think that outside of international management (and even that is a long shot), I don't see him managing again. I hope that he does get into the UEFA in some sort of decision making position. He certainly would be an upgrade on the current regime.

Tbh mate I don't think his "I stayed too long" comment was him being self aware. I think it was him having a dig at us Gooners - as in, he sacrificed too much of his career for us ungrateful bastards by staying when every big club in the world wanted him as lifelong manager and owner and dictator and and CEO and director of football and kitman and so on and so forth... :D
