Genuine question, please don't shoot me. Where this hate towards Pool originates from among Arsenal fans? Asking because I'm not English and really don't know about it...

Again, please don't shoot me but Pool was years ago actually a team I followed to some extend at least after Arsenal as my countryman Sami Hyypiä played there. Best defender in Finnish football history.
Heysel, Liverpool fans responsible for the deaths of 39 Juventus fans. No responsibility from their supporters for that, instead a lie was spread about "cockney accents on the ferry"...
Misty eyed sense of entitlement , too many plastic fans(especially in Ireland) , their quoting and of an misquoting of their history by the same plastic fans. Their current manager with his constant playing to the media and his manufactured passion.
As said above their intimidation of referees at Anfield in the 70s and 80s.. I remember listening to a game at Anfield on BBC Radio 2 back around 1978 .The commentator said there was a massive claim by Liverpool players for a penalty. The ref denied it and a Liverpool player grabbed the ref to complain..the player wasn't sent off as he should have been (commentators words) but a couple of minutes later the ball was back in the opposition penalty area....guess the rest ? Enough to say Liverpool won with a late penalty.

Their fans were and still are a nightmare , they thought nothing of trampling over kids to get to their hallowed position behind a goal to sway with their scarves and sing their bloody irritating song. they regularly charged turnstiles and turn up just before kick off and create mayhem in crowds . ( sound familiar ) All the time being the media darlings with their so called witty scouse humour , their accent and their refusal to accept any blame for Heysel and Hillsborough . You had to stand on the North bank to appreciate how they worked .
I certainly have no love for them.

Manure will qualify with ease - the other c.unts will find it a LOT TOUGHER, but sadly they will both still qualify    :censored: :censored:

The tottnumb crunt on one of our project teams actually speaks more sense about football than the two sectionable deluded Mousers in work.

This snippet from yesterday.....

"We could win the quadruple Derek".
"I don't see why not, John".
"With the best striker and midfielder in Europe and a big game specialist like Klopp we are quids in. I might put a few bob on the quadruple".

At this point I had to ask..... who is this "best midfielder in Europe?" even though I had this terrible embarrassed feeling that I already knew the answer..... and yep, fucko Derek pops up with:

"Jordan Henderson".

I actually laughed out loud. I just said "no he's not lads. No. Not by any stretch of the imagination".

I also asked how Klopp, loser in 6 out of 7 finals, is a "big game specialist"?

We then went into a little game of spot the armchair fan.

Derek: "he's won more than Emery".
Me: "no he hasnt".
John: "he's won more than Wenger".
Me: "no he hasn't".

At this point they swiftly changed the subject to Roy Keane and the Oirish national team debacle. I just sat there wrapped up warmly in a nice layer of smugness.

There is no real reason for the hatred of Pool fans apart from their historical following, they had more fans in London back in the 80s than manure fans. Then naturally when we turned them over in 87 for the Littlewoods cup and 89 in the League, they saw us as a threat. In more recent times it's been Manure.

However, the rivalry with the spuds is part of the fabric of our club, it doesn't matter if we play them in the PL, Championship or even the Conference we will (or should) despise them more than any other football club.

Bring Herd into this chat, he will tell you a few tasty stories about life as a Gooner back in the 70/80s on derby day. When I was a kid I saw some of the running battles between fans both at Highbury and Shite Hart Lane. There used to be a minimum of 10,000 away fans turn up for both league fixtures. Games where rarely all ticket until the late 80s. I have a neighbour who told me how Arsenal took over large swathes of shite hart lane when we won the league in 71.

As I said before, it's not even a discussion about who our biggest rivals are, at all levels its the spuds. We sing more songs about the spuds than any other team, there's a reason for that.

The liverpool fans seem to have a victim mentality, nothing is ever thier fault, as they go arround theiving, and trying to get into grounds without tickets. at this point they seem to revel in the melancholy of it all, and even thier managers seem to do it as part of buying in with the fans.

They have a massive media representation / bias that never put this shit in check, and in general nobody that is public figure will comment on it, for the fear of a backlash, so the shite carries on.

That is though not to say it was not a tragedy and the police made it worse with thier criminal attitude towards fans in general that led to many more deaths, and rightly never let it go from a justice point of view, but thier fans in general are some of the worst. also the "brilliant atmostphere", that the commentators mention even when they are being outsung by away fans. they sing at the start and End of the game that is it.

I remember when I was on holiday with some mates we where watching the game in a bar, then two scousers walked in, seemed nice enough and just when i thought they were okay, the barman left to change the barrel, and they emptied those boxes of crisps behind the bar of nearly all the packets, they did not even really want them, they just stole them because they could. they just seem to have a very high ratio of wankers vs normal fans.

Don't really need to go into spurs fans. :cussing:

The Hillsborough disaster isn't really enough to even consider hating scousers more than spuds. With the spuds it's over decades and decades since we allegedly squatted in their parish, they didn't like a bigger more successful club on their doorstep.

If there was a poll outside of the Emirates Stadium of who Gooners hate the most and see as our biggest rivals, for sure 99% would say the spuds. The other 1% would just be fruitcakes.........

Being a foreign supporter I automatically grew to hate spuds right away. I knew fuck all about them back in the day but I knew that much that they are our arch rivals and that was enough reason to hate them. Also, manure were a team and still is that I hated absolutely the most. Couldn't stand them and what they represented during Ferguson's times. In my country there were lot of manure fans around and we Arsenal fans clashed with them all the time in pubs etc.

There are actually even some spuds fans here but they are mostly a common laughing stock. Nobody can't understand why the fuck they support them.

Have a word with those two boys this morning about the quadruple...but in my (too vast ) experience dealing with Victim fans in Dublin, they will blame the ref and say the League Cup wasn't ever a priority as they have bigger things to aim for. They are the only fans that can convince themselves that the League Cup is more important than the Champions League if they are not in the Champions League. Yet if they lose in the the League Cup it becomes irrelevent.

1. Spurs
2. Chav$/west ham I see them as a similar type of fanbase.
3. bin dippers
4. manure
5. Everyone who aint Arsenal.
