Matthew Taylor replacement for Pires???

Matthew Taylor replacement for Pires???

Post by All_Arsenal_1886 »

Does anybody think that Matthew Taylor (Portsmouth) would be a good signing to replace Bobby down the left wing?

The good thing is Arsenal haven't been linked with the player so more of a chance to sign him
The bad thing is Portsmouth proberly don't want to sell one of, if not their best player last season.

Maybe a cash plus Freddy offer might tempt Harry Redknapp into a deal, Portsmouth were linked with Freddy last january.

2006/2007 Season Stats Competition
Team Apps G YC RC
Barclays Premiership Portsmouth 30(4) 8 4 0
Carling Cup Portsmouth 2(0) 1 0 0
FA Cup Portsmouth 2(0) 0 0 0

he played at left back and left winger last season so he's good at defending and attacking :D

I rate him. Certainly not scared of shooting!

He is good on the left of midfield but there are better out and out wingers who we need more and can't see him getting in ahead of Clichy at left back. He is a classic wingback which obviously isn't to our style of play.

Be more of a squad player for us which I doubt would suit him and would be expensive for it too.
