Bit of a random question here but here goes, I haven't any real interest in golf but the Ryder Cup is on and Europe play under the EU Flag. After Brexit can British players play for Europe in the Ryder Cup? This may have been covered before on this thread or elsewhere .
Hopefully we will be ostracised from taking part in the Eurovision Johnny come lately Logan Song Contest and invite Tonga to take our place in 5 hours of wasted life.....
Europa League ban would also be a saving Grace....

Hopefully by this time next year we can all be more optimistic about the future direction of the EU, with the UK at the heart of it .
Rob :- What do you think of this one ?

Guy Verhofstadt said the EU should raise its own taxes
Brexit negotiator and liberal leader Guy Verhofstadt said allowing eurocrats to employ its own continent-wide levies would “create a direct link between the EU and its citizens”.
He claimed most people would not mind coughing up their hard earned wages to Brussels rather than their own countries.

This is what you are dealing with . As one politician goes another takes it's place. The E.U is a basket case of different people pushing diifferent ideas but always with the ideal of more integration .
It's a power grab .

It won't change from it's main course of total control of each and every European country ,It's been that way ever since the federalists took control and set the course and it will not deviate.

more rubbish from you as usual.
the EU is NOT trying to control the UK - we are part of the EU!

If we were so much under the control of some mythical person from the EU then how come we still have the pound as our currency and not the Euro!! We are one of the major countries in the EU - no one is going to start controlling us any time soon.

HOWEVER you Brexiteers want out of all this - and then you will start to see them controlling us!!
You do realise that we are going to need to trade with the EU if and when we leave ? If that happens they will of course hold all the cards in any trade negotiations.

I'll just repeat there will never be a compulsory EU Army. That is just silly propaganda. There may be a more proactive voluntary multinational EU peacekeeping force along the lines of the NATO model but it will be incentivised, never compulsory.

Tbh though some form of coordinated EU military cooperation will be a good thing given the real threat of Islamic terror cells in our general population. An exchange of expertise and technology is vital to combat those scumbags.

An example. The Oirish police version of your Special Branch is currently monitoring 4 or 5 cells of ISIS fundraisers in Dublin. These are mostly just regular plod with some training in responding to gang shootings and bank robberies but no tactical training or anti terror training. They carry sidearms and have access to MP5 and Uzi type SMGs but no ballistic shields or proper room breaching equipment or indeed training in CQB.

If the ISIS money men were to launch a terror attack in Dublin we are terribly unprepared for it.

In this modern age of Islamic terror a coordinated highly mobile and well trained response is vital.
That is a good point, because not only to track them better, but when they wan't to go and arrest them, without the proper training it could be a disaster if the ISIS escape the building they raid.

I see a documentary called "path of blood" it was about the Saudi police trying to capture Terrorist Cells in the 90s which is mostly shown as raw footage from both captured Terrorist footage and police footage, nearly every raid ending in open firefights in the streets and many wounded and killed police. often with the some part of the cell escaping.

They got to be trained to go in hard and fast but not stupid, with the right gear and kill them all fast. Aircraft carriers are pointless in this modern world they are a 70s throwback. well trained intelligence officers and CQB is more important, nuclear ICBMs and submarines provide the deterrent for nearly everything else that is not a terrorist group. if anything NATO should fund those as mobile air strips for NATO operations.

to sum up how badly Brexit has and is being reported there have been the following comments from Carlos Ghosn, the chief executive of Nissan, who spoke at the Paris Motor Show.
He said: “We are preparing for the worst, but I do not want to tell you how we are preparing because you will say I am trying to scare people.”

The refusal to accept project reality is a tragedy in the making for this country.

Snowflake, scare mongering remoaners. :D
It's all, me me me me me.
Get a grip, and try to stop abusing others that have a different perspective.

The UK is still gonna trundle along, long after you've exhausted yourselves with your stamping feet, flouncing and hissy fits.

Meh

That's exactly the kind of response I am meaning :D

It is not about having a different perspective, Brexit should not be about different opinions - it is a question of dealing with facts and the consequences for the country.

What are you on about that its all me me me ??
I am trying to say what the potential problems for the country as a whole will be.
And no the UK WILL NOT just trundle along as before if there is a NO DEAL Brexit, and you really need to wake up to that.

Moi ??? :D

The same people insulting the result of the referendum, are the ones to scream, 'where's our democracy?' had the vote gone the other way and also been contested.
History will bear out that Rob and others ARE wrong.
Like I said, scaremongering snowflakes.

:rubchin:

Your maths is off Rob. I make it 142 days.

But if it helps there's only 22 days until the November.

:D
