The 'I told you so' EU referendum - Officially the Worst Thread Ever
Re: The 'I told you so' EU referendum - Officially the Worst Thread Ever
You're a sad Europhile Rob. In another 10 years when the train has kept going and your rights and taxes are decided by people over whom you have no control.I fear that you will live to regret your position . You may, stay in your beloved customs union but when you realise that it has handcuffed us it will be too late to remove the shackles. Those of us that can remember family telling tales of Mosely in the East end and the fight against a totallitarian rule of Europe know just how dangerous this union is. Those that think it is Utopia are in for a nasty shock.

That is actually a big march though to be fair.
if 30 something million want to remain, how many are very old, and very young, how many are very far away and could not afford to make the trip, you might be left with something like a 1 in 20 turn out, that is pretty big.
it's 10 percent of london that turned out if those numbers are not exagerated, and again that is not discounting the very old and very young.

Having spent so long denigrating those of us that wanted to leave, perhaps the remaining side could tell us how they see the way continued membership would pan out for the Uk and how the changes in the pipeline will be to our advantage.

The leave voters, voted at the time ( referendum) so have no need to.Gunner Rob wrote: ↑Wed Oct 24, 2018 8:08 amand how many would leave voters get these days ?
I see that coward Farage got a few hundred up in Harrogate on Saturday. Well done![]()
Rob, why is Switzerland not clamouring to take our place as the EU is such a magnificent thing to be in ?
How on earth are they managing to survive ?

Switzerland is a member of the European Free Trade Association (EFTA), and took part in negotiating the European Economic Area (EEA) agreement with the European Union. They also allow freedom of movement.StuartL wrote: ↑Thu Oct 25, 2018 10:58 amThe leave voters, voted at the time ( referendum) so have no need to.Gunner Rob wrote: ↑Wed Oct 24, 2018 8:08 amand how many would leave voters get these days ?

Brexiteers as far as I am aware are not too keen on all those arrangements.

it seems to work ok at the moment ?
funnily enough since the vote in 2016 none of the other countries in the EU have expressed an interest in leaving the EU. I wonder why not.
maybe it is because they realise the advantages of being in the world's biggest trading area.
the best deal for the UK is one which we already have - why would you want to turn Kent into a lorry park ?

Not so sure about Italy, Hungary,Poland and if you read the pronouncements in the press releases what makes you think its going to remain the same. The one about a centralised tax system would scare me not to mention the single state which is their eventual aim.
You may think that this is all leaves own project fear but you need to read both sides of the argument. The Eu's project is ever moving and the more it grows the smaller our influence becomes already per capita we come way down the list whilst our financial contributions are much higher.

The people haven’t been asked have they ?
There are lots of countries that get out more than they put in, so they are sitting comfortably, we on the other hand are propping them up.
The politicians who feather there own nest don’t want the gravy train to end do they, their lovely EU pensions.
