I suppose we can look at this from different viewpoints - are we not included cos we chose not to be, or are we considered unimportant now after years of decline under le senile cock ?

The sun of course has a different slant (no shock there

) and has us included in "most shocking betrayal"
https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football ... -meetings/
Personally I have mixed views - on one hand I absolutely want my club to stay in their domestic league, but on the other hand I dont want them to be left behind when all the big clubs fcuk off (a bit like the europa league I guess

). Make no mistake, this euro league plan is all about ££££

but I wonder what impact (if any) brexit might have on it
Was watching the News this morning , a reporter was explain this concept and how it was all about the money when the female presenter interrupted him and asked how much more money do they want ?.
That is the question we all should ask but will never get an answer to. All clubs can smugly take the line that they have to follow or be left behind while secretly licking their lips at the thoughts of it . Hate the thoughts of it myself, think football has gone way too far as it is but having said that I also accept that this will happen in some form at some point in time.
I hope it does happen because it will be the moment when it all blows up over their greedy faces
Have to admit that my first reaction was.... thank christ we are still at the top table...followed by a careful check that the scum weren't on the list

As we all know money talks and if the clubs on that main list do something then the TV money will follow them without a shadow of doubt.
If they are looking to replace the Champions League then you have to wonder whether it is to secure more of the revenue stream that UEFA control or is it the prerequisite to an actual super league to replace domestic ones. Or maybe it is both. UEFA released the following breakdown for it's Euro revenue -
"The gross commercial revenue from the 2018/19 UEFA Champions League, the 2018/19 UEFA Europa League and the 2018 UEFA Super Cup is estimated at around €3.25bn.
Of the estimated gross amount of €3.25bn, €295m will be deducted to cover organisational costs relating to the competitions, and 7% (€227.5m) will be set aside for solidarity payments. Of the resulting net revenue of €2.73bn, 6.5% will be reserved for European football and remain with UEFA, and the other 93.5% will be distributed to the participating clubs.
On the basis of the above revenue forecast and set allocations, the total amount available for distribution to participating clubs in 2018/19 is €2.55bn, of which €2.04bn will be distributed to clubs competing in the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Super Cup, and €510m will be distributed to clubs participating in the UEFA Europa League."
So of 3.25bn income, the Champions League boys get 2.04bn which means that they will see that as well over a billion going elsewhere. Who really gives a fuck about the Ropey league....does it justify receiving 510m from commercial income or is that UEFA redistributing the wealth a bit. Given that ourselves Milan and Chelski would generate far more income than half of the CL qualifying clubs - Club Bruge, Pizen, Moscows, Red Star etc then you can see where the major clubs are coming from - rightly or wrongly.
Also we are coming unstuck with Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and co becoming unwanted away fixtures in the Ropey cup.....which quite frankly is bollox and perhaps a motivator for the big clubs to act. Perhaps the clubs wanted less games in these competitions and a bigger slice of the income they attract. Have they had conversations with UEFA about these issues over the years, been ignored and so have decided to act. It's always been just a matter of time.
