The 'I told you so' EU referendum - Officially the Worst Thread Ever

Try the Independent, Guardian or the Telegraph for daily brexit coverage.

In all fairness it doesn't matter which paper you go for as the title " newspaper " no longer covers their remit. News is broken on all sorts of media long before they go to print .The papers write opinion pieces and attract the readers that are sympathetic to their views. It will be interesting to see what happens to the Mail's readership as it has changed horses so to speak.
We are all the same we like to see things that justify our positions. You see things from the situation of someone that is close to the city and holds their position dear . Whereas I am not in that clique and see things from the rural perspective where the general public feel that they are polarised and largely ignored by monied elite. I do not know what you earn but the average wage inmy area is just about £20,000 a year and although I will conceed that it is cheaper for housing nothing else is. Tesco charge the same in Islington as they do in Great Yarmouth and when I come down to London for matches I often fill up near Tottenham Hale because the fuel is cheaper there.
The whole of this process has been hijacked by economic argument the reasons that farmhands , Fishermen and the general public voted to leave have been forgotten.

As someone who studied economics you should be familiar with silly graphs. no?Herd wrote: ↑Fri Nov 30, 2018 9:48 amThe article has no fact in it just some silly graphs ,full of coulds, might ,possibly shit that all have come up with and issued by people who don't give a toss about anything except their own highly paid jobs !Gunner Rob wrote: ↑Thu Nov 29, 2018 4:01 pmvery good points as always.nut flush gooner wrote: ↑Thu Nov 29, 2018 2:26 pmA very good article about the potential impact of Brexit.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-46377309
If we do fall off the edge of a cliff with a hard Brexit it's going to take 5 years just to get where we are today. If we go for the proposed deal, it will still take 3 years. What's worrying is they could be wrong by a big margin and as a country, we are still in the shit for many years to come. And people moan about immigrants clogging up our NHS, well who are you going to blame in 10 years when our tax take is significantly less than it should be.
Whilst these figures are subjective, one thing is for sure since the referendum our economy is behind where it would have been today had we not bothered with a referendum in the first place.
Brexiteers will of course argue that:
a) this is all scaremongering![]()
b) Brexit was never about the economyfunnily enough though they can never come up with any reasons what it was about

Notice May wants to debate with Corbyn on TV but only on the BBC and they wont tell labour what format it takes ,they obviously plan a stich up !
Funny that ,the BBC a people funded broadcaster that just promotes state propaganda ,mates RTE look unbiased !
In my opinion the graphs say a lot, even if they are wrong by a long way it still means things are going to be rough over the coming years.
Going on Sunday Herd?

Everyone needs to keep looking at the big picture with Brexit.
I prefer fact to fantasy and truth over lies.
We already have the best deal being inside the EU.
Anyone who disputes this is living in a fantasy world. Everyone needs to wake up. Why would anyone believe that pompous prick Jacob Rees Mogg or the slimy Nigel Farage ?

Tony Blair made some excellent points on TV this morning.
No doubt he will be dismissed as a war criminal though by most on here.
the real criminals are the ones that peddled LIES about Brexit in the lead up to the referendum, and who have set this country back years irrespective of what the outcome for Brexit will be.

I'm more worried about Blair keeping the pot boiling whilst the Marrakech agreement goes through under the radar.

Gunner Rob showing clear signs of desperation by bringing Tony Blair (The modern day Oliver Cromwell) who actually put us in a war that was never democratically sanctioned or backed by the UN so he could play pocket billiards with Bush!
His Mrs must have given him legal advice in his war with Iraq....
Your credibility has just sunk to a new level.....

I was one of many who went on the Stop the War march in 2003, and although I disagreed with him on that issue, I believe that he did what he felt was right at that time. He did a lot of other very good things for this country, he shouldnt just be judged on that one issue. The UK with Blair as PM was a country doing a lot better than it is doing at the moment!Allgunsblazin wrote: ↑Mon Dec 03, 2018 10:53 amGunner Rob showing clear signs of desperation by bringing Tony Blair (The modern day Oliver Cromwell) who actually put us in a war that was never democratically sanctioned or backed by the UN so he could play pocket billiards with Bush!

there could well be a number of deaths from a no deal Brexit, due to food and medicine shortages, in the immediate weeks at the end of March.
even if that doesnt happen then as a country we will become much poorer and are likely to die younger, especially if as is likely the NHS becomes unsustainable.

EU CITIZENS WHO CRITICISE IMMIGRATION COULD BE JAILED IN NEW UN PLAN
Who says this ? An MEP, Marcel de Graaff and he says ''Criticism of migration will be criminal offence.''
Marcel de Graaff has warned EU citizens they could be jailed for criticising immigration policies if the new United Nations agreement is acted upon.
Although this UN agreement is not binding it is still meant to be the legal framework on which the participating countries commit themselves to build new legislation. It is sufficiently serious for many countries to say they will not sign - see below
Britain has, or says she will, sign up to the UN migration pact. Of course the gov has. The Foreign Office, probably rubber stamped by the PM, is too soft to say no to the UN, despite the Tory government promising Brits many times that they will hold immigration back.
But many tough and realistic Western countries say they will not sign, eg. Austria, Australia, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Italy, Israel, Poland, Slovakia, Switzerland and the USA.
On the December 10th/11th there will be an international congress in Marrakesh, Morocco. The participating
countries (includes Britain) are set to sign this agreement.
Criticism of immigration will become a criminal offence de Graaff says.
And he says “Media outlets that give room to criticism of migration can be shut down."
More fake news I suppose.
