why are people disappointed spurs and Liverpool went through?

I'm pleased. I want us to win the Europa league and I really didn't want to have to play Liverpool or spurs along the way!

Good results tonight. Napoli are a good side but at least they're not English opposition.

Agree, at the time I always want them to lose, but on reflection I now want them to draw porto, then draw a team like PSG in the round after, it will keep them busy

Was hoping for a Scum humiliation last night , genuinely disappointed it didn't happen. I don't necessarily believe that them being in the CL makes their PL challenge weaker, because I don't think they are realistic challengers in either.
.Some journalist whoes name escapes me declared that their draw last night was the greatest result for an English club in the Nou Camp in years.
Hate the Chavs but surely their comeback from 2-0 down with 10 men in 2012 was a better result.

especially considering they were playing a full strength barca team in a knockout match, and liverpool won there in 2007?

quite enjoying this constant media frenzy around them tbh, they'll do what they usually do and get giddy on tumble away as per usual when the pressure heats up in february. honestly i wouldn't swap being in the last 16 of the cl for being in the europa, because we actually have a chance of winning it. they'll have 3 other english clubs to deal with, plus the madrid teams, barca, munich and juve ffs!

Very true. It's so much more fun watching them preen and peacock that it's their year, before they Hindenburg each and every March/ April.

As a fan of both Bayern and Juve I want them to crush their spirits like a fat bird sitting on a refresher sweet - into fine dust.

not sure about that analogy mate. if a fat bird sat on a refresher, I'm fairly sure the fat would envelope it rather than turn it to dust.

that said, the heat from the big sweaty mass of fat may dissolve the refresher?

In the early days of the forum, I'm confident mrGnU would have tested this theory on camera for us :gus2:

Point taken.

This round of games is a joke now - Real Madrid losing 2-0 at home to CSKA and Roma losing to someone ive never heard of...

I think these big teams no longer care after theyve qualified, now theyll just concentrate on their leagues and winter breaks and worry about who they draw next year.

CSKA won 3-0 at the Bernabeu, beating the European Champions.

Spurs' "performance of the round" lasted 20 hours.

So spursy. :barscarf:

So sooooo spursy. Reminds me of the first year they came out with that "mind the gap" shit. And it lasted about 3 weeks until we overtook them. Sooooo spursy.  The ultimate premature ejaculator of a club. :censored:

Chavs losing to someone from somewhere.... utterly pointless.

Oh and after Matips injury last Klopp is down to two CB's for the xmas & NY games - were there any questions about his training methods ? Was there fuck. :banghead:

Spurs will 100% fall away because they have a small squad and don't have money to strengthen in January. They had a load of players at the WC in the latter stages so although they're fresh and doing bits atm, they'll slow down after christmas and particularly the easter period :barscarf:

stevie mee out of Europe. Whoops.

A bit poor when you cant even finish 2nd.

Sevilla looking handy tonight. Them for the final ?

I hope we get Rennes in the quarter or semi - thats a cracking little city to get wankered in. Stade de Rennais is a nice little ground too, on the main drag just on the outskirts :barscarf:
