Yeah didn’t realise Martinez was as old as 26, clearly not going to make it with us so time for a replacement
 Wow! I thought he was still in his teens. Obviously never gonna make it at Arsenal. :?

Can't say that I've really heard of this lad.....

https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football ... -transfer/

But apparently Cahill is also still a possibility......

https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football ... -juventus/

And that article claims that Ramsey is looking for about £175k per week

I fear we may have to say that a lot in future, lets hope the transfer team can unearth some hidden gems in defence and on the wing because i can't see us buying many proven 'names' under the current regime

Torreira and Guendozi, Sokratis were not exactly names on my list, but they have strengthened the team no question.

My knowledge of bargain buys has diminished somewhat since I stopped playing football manager / fifa.

Shouldn’t be hard to get upgrades in one or two key area’s though.

According to Cadena Ser and Orange Sport, Arsenal are interested in signing Fernando Calero from Real Valladolid. The defender has a release clause of €11 Million
This looks like a typical Mislintat signing. Hopefully another gem at that.

You'd like to think that between them Dick and Sven would be able to use their knowledge of the Spanish and German leagues to pick up a couple of decent experienced players who would actually benefit the midfield. I wonder if Dick originally thought that he could do something with the midfield he had inherited or has it come as a nasty shock to him just how limited they are.

The rumours again today are suggesting that we are close to signing banega, and tbh that worries me - obviously our midfield could do with an upgrade, but I would suggest that centre midfield should be down the list of priorities. Any team that needs to keep playing lard arse iwobi and mikki on the wings, clearly needs a significant upgrade there. Any team that needs to play a pussified shite german (mustafi) and a past his best (kos) at centre back is obviously in serious trouble there. Maybe equally importantly, if the 3 choices at left full are a past his best injury prone spaniard, a brainless over-bulked up bosnian, or a young centre mid being asked to fill in there, then alarm bells should be in overdrive.

At the start of the season we all knew that this squad was light on quality and could do with more incoming transfers. Now, when you factor in our injury riddled condition, we are in desperate need of quality investment but we know that dick and sven wont be given the type of funds required  Prioritising needs should be the way to go right now instead of dick targetting players he has managed previously (banega) or sven going after more dortmund players. Stop gap moves maybe, but surely we would have the necessary money and will to buy or sign benatia from juve (centre back), someone like malcom (barca) or even pulisic (dortmund I know) on loan for the wings, and tierney celtic (left full) who would be the one recruitment that would hit the finances.

We need to be creative for sure, but we do need to be pro-active

We won't be spending much unless we can offload some players and who's going to be buying our players.

I said we would come 6th at the start of the season and I would say with manure starting to win games at a canter it won't be long before we are there.

Pleeeease - beating the shit out of cardiff and huddersfield, does not mean that they are a team on the way back  I think their next two games are bournemouth home and reading in the cup, so I am eagerly awaiting the media's certain crowning of them as serious contenders to win this season's champions league

€20 million buy out clause for Banega apparently. As you said midfield should be lower down in our list of positions to strengthen but I do worry that Torreira might be getting a little bit overworked and Doozy is still a work in progress that needs to be eased in.

Money where your mouth is badly, let's say a round 100 pound against your 100 euro

Of course you won't take the bet cos your mystic meg predictions never materialise

Their squad is better than ours, didn't we struggle against both those teams they just smashed  (if I keep putting the rolling eyes at the end of every statement like you do will that validate my argument  )

I'm probably on my own here, but imo we should absolutely push the boat out for him next summer -

https://www.skysports.com/transfer/news ... pochettino

Obviously the set £25m transfer fee will mean a huge salary for the player, but would anyone say that he wouldnt be an outstanding signing for us ? The fact that the transfer fee clause is set in stone means that the scum could not reject a £25m bid from us, and can you imagine the satisfaction we would get by stealing their best defender for the second time in 20 years ? 8) :barscarf:

Rai Sports market expert Ciro Venrato has confirmed 'Aaron Ramsey's transfer to Juventus is done. He'll be a Juventus player.' He also claims Juve have beaten off competition from Inter Milan, AC Milan, PSG, Barcelona & Bayern to secure his services.
