His comments that "everyone at Arsenal loves me, the fans, players" and now "everyone in my country loves me"

These comments make him sound a prick and unfortunately Arsenal seem to be developing a few players with this kind of attitude.
They first come into the team with a great attitude for the intial 12-18 months and then some seem to think they are wonderful and have made it.
If he wants to go then please fuck off and can AW make sure that when signing a player he has the right attitude.

The reason for the change in his and other players attitudes is down to one thing......we have no strong leaders in the dressing room. Can you imagine if ade or any other player started giving it billy big bollix when they had the likes of TA6, PV4 and killer Keown in the dressing room ? It also would be a humbling experience training and playing alongside a player like DB10 who when you start to think you are a great player you would look across at the dutch maestro and feel inferior straight away.

Maybe it suits wenger to not have leaders like that anymore cos he is the only person players could look up to then so no challenge to his authority ? One thing for certain we do need a few real leaders in this team and fast

Magic you can sell a player that you think would get you 30 goals if -

(a) you believe that you could replace him with any one of several strikers each of which would be more clinical.

(b) the replacement player would come in without the billy big bollox attitude that the departing player had

(c)you could do the above and come out with a profit that may be free to use elsewhere

I would def believe the possibility of selling ade for that money and replacing him with david villa is an option that wenger should really go for and it would be a huge step up in quality. Of course even the dog on the street know that it hasnt a hope in hell of happening :x :banghead: :banghead:

Eggsactly, if we sell him its unlikely he's is going to be replaced immediately and unlikely we will strengthen our squad with the money available.

I'm not sure this idea that Ade's arrogant is totally substantiated. Other than him saying Henry believed in him and gave him confidence and that he loves the fans song about him, I havent really heard any direct comments from him that seem big headed. That stuff about 'I'm worth 30mill' is all press speculation again. I also think there's a part of him that feels a responsibilty in africa as an example and preaching self-belief looks like arrogance. When he goes home, he probably is treated like a superstar because he's a prominant African figure.

How much is lost in translation? Often these comments come after a question like 'you've done really well this year and Arsenal aren't missing Henry, don't you think?', ade says 'yes, its going well, i think i'm a lot better' and then its reported 'Ade thinks he's the dog's bollocks'

If it is true though, and in general, i agree completely with Augie that there is a real need for a leader in the team.

David Villa has said his dream is to play for Arsenal if we have £32m to spend we have no excuse not to buy him.

I'd take 32mil for him, except how much of that would go on transfers, probably about 10mil, the rest of it would magically disappear

I do not think Ade is over the top arrogant, just confident.

He was a bit rude to Bendtner though!

If we did get this money I would sign Thierry Henry and Klaas Jan Huntelaar. I believe that an Henry who is one of the rank and file (and he would have to understand that before being welcomed back) playing in the "Bergkamp" role with Huntelaar ahead of him could be devastating in the Premier League.

He's good, but young and still unproven at the highest level. David Villa, on the otherhand, is still relatively young but has proven that he can produce the goods when it matters.

When you consider the relatively little difference there would be in their price tags, I know which one would be the more astute buy. 8) As for bringing back TH; that would be a retrograde step and could do more harm than good.

Exactly and only a fool would fail to see the difference in class.
