ALL Transfer talk - merged thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

This deal, especially if it is a loan with a view to buy, is something I would def be happy with - I don't normally support loan deals in, but with our limited budget, and a bigger need for that budget at centre back, it makes perfect sense to get a quality winger in on loan

That was harsh wasn't it. Bearing in mind the kicking team also sometimes call a time out to give the kicker a practice go, I really thought he was going to miss the uprights again and stick it straight through. Would have been the perfect finish to the game and a real shame that Chicago went out.
I'd change that rule in a heart beat, I think it's completely unsportsmanlike. Calling a time out just before the kick whether it be for a practice go or icing the kicker is against the spirit of the game in my opinion and should be outlawed. I know some people like the cut throat nature of it and the fact that it tests the mental side of the kicker (and to be fair it rarely works) but I'd still do away with it if I was in charge,

*Apologies for taking this thread off topic but as it's the transfer thread and 100% bullshit anyway I didn't think anyone would mind 8)
I'm pretty sure augie started a Tedious American Throwball thread in the basement.....

Is Denis Suarez any good? I don't know much about him tbh and wondered why he is surplus to requirements at Barca. If he was good wouldn't they be using him?

Would like to see this happen. He is a quality player. I thought a couple of years ago he was better than De bruyne. Was surprised he went to china, hopefully he's earnt his money now and wants to start playing proper football again. He was such an integral player to the system used at Atletico Madrid and would fit well with Emery's style. Get him on loan, spend the money on defenders.

Augie my man were you watching my beloved Bears last night?

Fucking hell that’s as devestated as I’ve ever been after a non Arsenal related sporting event in my life. Inconsolable going to bed last night.

After the shit that went down all season with Parkey hitting the uprights I just knew what was going to happen at the death there, it just had that deathly inevitability to it when he stepped up, but to hit the fucking crossbar too on the way down but bounce out?

I actually fell off the fucking couch.

Absolutely gutted.

Apologies for the delay rodders

Due to work and family issues (wife using one tv and kids using the other   ), I very rarely get a chance to watch the nfl games live so I spend the rest of the week trying to catch up, and I have literally just finished watching the bears game. Obviously I felt sorry for the bears, but it is amazing that their punter can hit the uprights 5 times in one season - this season we have seen kickers cut by their teams for a lot less  Cos the beat the much hated patriots last season I cant begrudge the eagles, but it would have been good to see chicago rising again, plus I always like the teams built on strong defence.
Have to say that I was gutted to see the hawks knocked out cos I like them, but also cos I fcuking hate the cowboys and their america's team bollox
- hope those b.astards get hammered in next round

Latest rumour is that monreal has signed a new one year deal........ does anyone know if there is any truth to that ? A backward move imo cos we need to upgrade a poor defence and not insure that we keep them at the club

So Rambo is on his way to Juve, good luck to him but I don't see him moving as being a major blow to our future prospects as a team.

I always felt he was a level below Lampard and Gerard, and not even close to Bobby Pires who scored a lot more goals than Ramsey. The only thing that does annoy me is the fact he wasn't in a long term contract and being transferred for a £50m fee.

Yeah there was a clause in his contract giving the club the option to extend by one year once he entered the final 6 months of his deal which they activated yesterday. Hopefully that was done just to get some sort of a transfer fee for him in the summer (however meagre) because with his constant niggling injuries and advancing years he's a busted flush for us at this stage.

The one positive is that Ramsey is the second last (Welbeck will be the last) player that is going to stroll out the door without the club getting a transfer fee in return. The dark days of gross mismanagement under Wanka and Ivan are over and any player or agent dragging their feet over signing an extension will be told sign or go from now on.

Remember when dickhead Wanka said it would be more and more common in he game for players to run down their contracts and leave for nothing?

Well guess what???? the only fucking club where that is happening is Arsenal you fucking parasitic piece of fucking SHIT :banghead: :banghead:
