ALL Transfer talk - merged thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

La Voix du Nord claim #Arsenal have had two offers rejected for Upamecano, the last one being close to €70m. Arsenal still hope to convince Leipzig to sell. https://t.co/Hv6h3wI6dm

Arsenal could be stuck with Shkodran Mustafi having received no formal transfer offers

Well of course we've had no transfer offers. What did you expect as every time he plays for us he makes yet another error.

We couldn't give this *word censored* away!

Bild say #Arsenal remain very interested in Upamecano & could make an improved offer of €60m plus €20m rated Emile Smith Rowe. Julian Nagelsmann wants to keep the defender due to the lack of quality & affordable replacements available on the market. https://t.co/75KudOgsh1

there's absolutely nothing wrong with Ozil, coutinho and Cebellos all competing for that starting spot. likewise the CM spot alongside or instead of Xhaka, Torreira.
Except ozil is on 300k a week. For that sort of money he should be dominating every team we play unfortunately most games he is non existent. The only reason it is tolerated is that the old manager was so desperate to spin some good news that any deal was accepted as he wouldn't have to clear up the mess. He is a complete drain on our meagre resources.

Absolute fucking disgrace that he managed to leave the club without ever having been stripped of the armband. It may have only been a symbolic gesture but at least it would have avoided the arsenal captaincy getting shat on even more if that is even possible.

And then that vid of his unveiling is the final fuck you

How are Spuds going to pay Dybala what he wants considering Utd pulled out due to his 'agents demands', they've got to be careful with so many of their 'stars' on around £100K a week, if they end up giving Dybala £200K+ then it could (hopefully) cause some issues.

Getting Upamecano is really make or break now, get him it's a good transfer window, go for the Italian Mustafi on loan then it's mediocre, get no one and Pepe just looks like an exercise in appeasing the fans, rather like paying Ozil £300K a week was, remember we're only paying about £20M up front so it's not like we've actually spent £72M on him (yet).

Upamecano and Saliba could be Arsenal and France's CB pairing for a decade with their potential and age, just pay the £80M and get it done!, assuming he actually wants to come.

These days £4.6m is fuck all. As someone said before just once we should have come down hard on him, refused him a transfer and at the very least made him pay up his contract or better still fester in the reserves. I appreciate there is the risk of him trying to cause unrest but such fucking disrespect for a club you captained is completely out of order.
Total and utter crunt. Fuck off

Yep, he turned out to be a total and utter prick and yes 4.6m ain't nothing but at least we saved nearly 100k in wages per month. Hopefully that money will be spent wisely to bring in proper replacement.

Hopefully we'll sign two defenders and offload Mustafi. No matter the price, dump him into Thames if nothing else works. At least rest of the Europe has transfer windows open until the end of the month so there should be enough time to sell players.

Someone else called rugani that yesterday so I am asking (not sarcastically) if anyone has watched him or knows what he is like ? I have previously expressed concerns about a guy of his age being a back up to old men chellini and bonucci, but that is an on paper assessment cos I have openly said that I have never seen the guy play. Are people talking up the Leipzig guy cos he is first choice at 20 years old whilst rugani is 3rd choice at 25 ? Is a first choice at a club like Leipzig better than a 3rd choice at juve ?

As I said, I am genuinely asking if anyone has seen both of these players in action cos I have seen neither
