Manc Filth (A) 30/09 @ 20:00

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Don't think Saka or Martinelli will start. Wouldn't think Holding will either. Emery will have Thursday in mind and so woukd expect to see a return for Sokratis, Luiz, Xhaka, Pepe, Guendouzi and Aubameyang . I would hope Tierney would start . This is a very winnable game with the correct line up and approach.
True Dat! :high5:

But as I saw or heard on one of the social media outlets

"Only Arsenal Can Lose Us This Game" :?

By which I think they meant it depends on the line-up/team selection AND if that selected team Turn the Fuckk up ! :? :?

Looks like Tierney will start thats good news, he looks strong, solid in the tackle quick to get forward can cross a ball and has a real professional attitude.

Hopefully Chambers will cover that role, Luiz and Maitland Niles should be given a long rest

I doubt he’s fully match fit to start. I was at the game on Tuesday and he was passed quite a few energy drinks actually which is consistent with a player returning to full fitness. Highly likely he’d be on the bench but it would be a pleasant surprise if he starts.

We should be more worried about the midfield. It’s too wide open and USB keeps exacerbating the problem with this daft diamond formation. His team selection is all over the place and I fully expect another unworkable formation tomorrow. We’ve gone from a manager who didn’t pay any attention to the opposition to a coach who plans for the opposition to the peril of his team.

It matters little who plays at the back unless there is a screen in front of the back 3 or 4 or 5

With the state of that shit club I cannot take a loss on this game. United are known to have a crisis against any and every team apart from us. When we play them they magically become somewhat good at football and Lingard looks like prime Lineker ffs.

Really don't want to drive home from Manchester in a shitty weather, cursing at the team and dreading the 5am wake up next day. 1-2 for the boys. Auba scores a double 8)

If chambers is up against the new welsh kid they signed in the summer, he will tear chambers a new arsehole - I like chambers as a centre back/CDM, but he has not got the pace to play full back and especially against a fast b.astard like that kid is.

Yes agreed best at CB, but what's the alternative Maitland Niles?

That's what I'd like to see but Emery will probably play captain catastrophe in midfield instead of Torreira. Despite that this team is good enough to get our first league win there since 2006.

I would have Sokratis instead of Luiz, but otherwise yes looks the best we have available

And when he does pick him, he plays him as an box to box Mid-fielder, instead of the Holding Mid-fielder which he does brilliantly for his country. :?

Emery is the new tinker man.... :?

It baffles me (and I'm sure quite a few other Gooners) as to why Emery keeps playing Captain Catastrophe - He be better off captaining the New Titanic.
