The truth of course is that wind the clock back a few years and Guardiola and Klopp were ripe for the taking and looking for a move to England.....a time when City were still ok with Pellegrini winning leagues and Liverpool were a joke (like us now) dicking about in the Europa spots and picking up the odd league cup.

That's why I despise the wig wearing c.unt with a passion beyond belief - two contract extensions for that braindead old fartpipe that have set this club back a decade

If only...

To an extent SteveO, I agree but when you see the team selections and especially the continued selection of one of the worst Arsenal players for some time ie: Xhaka, there is no excuse. Emery clearly is not competent, after 1.5 years he doesn't know his best team/formation/tactics/captain etc etc, that is criminal. He has to go, the sooner the better.
I can't disagree about Xhaka mate - to me it is absolutely inexplicable as to how he plays every game, and as for the decision to make him captain....baffling in the extreme.

I think the reason why he doesn't know his best team is that he is only just getting this together as his team now - it wasn't really his team last year and I could forgive the constant changes whilst he worked out who was for keeps and who was going. You've got to agree that he was far more ruthless in this window than Wenger ever was - Cech, Koscielny, Ramsey, Elneny, Jenkinson, Iwobi - all fucked off in 1 window, where as the previous goon would have extended all of their contracts. He desperately wants rid of Mustafi and Ozil too but Fuckface gave them the sort of deals they could only dream of elsewhere

When you consider that lot above, surely we need to give him time to find a blend with his own players?

Im still open to giving him until the end of the season - Torreira, dozer, martinelli and KT are good business. As is blooding the kids and getting rid of the dross.

His comments were bang on tonight about working for the fans.

Xhaka and Luiz is my only complaint. I can only think that the board is furious that he has dropped two of our most highly overpaid and formerly over valued players and wont let him drop a third ? I also want to see luiz dropped and holding back in.

Why do people credit Emery for 'signing' Torreira, Tierney etc etc.? he has nothing to with signings!, his job is to work with the players he has, and he's pretty sh*t at it.

Yes, buy the worst driver in the world a Porsche and he will still crash it...It 's not always about what you have, it is about how you use it.

I want emery gone too, BUT I have to say that I don't blame him for dropping the 2 points yesterday, and to do so is misdirection imo -

Var gave a penalty to palace that should not have been given imo.
Xhaka is slow to track the runner into space behind chambers, and luiz loses ayew at the back post for 2-2
VAR denies us an absolute perfect winning goal that nobody else in the country see's as a foul

These decisions were on var and the players, not the manager. Personally I would have subbed laca and brought on martinelli, and if I'm honest I will say that bringing on saka for xhaka baffled me tactically, but imo the 2 points dropped were down to others not emery

Still think he needs to go though

Mr. Magnolia ain’t having much luck with his captains is he?

It started off with his first captain going on strike and refusing to go on pre season tour, then he decided to pick 5 captains, then he decided to have the players vote X factor style to see who their number one choice would be, one of his 5 captains can’t even make the match day squad and has zero relationship with the manager and the number one captain just told the fans to fuck off.

I think it’s all going rather swimmingly don’t you?

Indeed Rodders! I just posted something about out recent captains in the Captains thread!

It's not just an Emery problem. Pretty much runs for the entire post-Highbury era!

Just read it Clash....great minds eh?

Forgot to mention that from last year’s captain pool one left for Juve for free and the other rat fucked off home to the chavs.

The captain’s armband at this club has been fucking destroyed by the last 2 c.unts in charge :banghead:

Everyone on here turned their nose up at Brenda (me more than anyone) when he was linked with us after Wenger was sacked but fuck me we would have been 1000 times better off with him than Emery.

He has Leicester playing a high tempo, super brand of football this season compared to our lethargic snail paced drivel and they are going to be a serious threat for top 4 this year.

Going second tonight.

I was saying exactly this to people last week. I didn't want him at the time either, but neither was I excited by Emery when he was appointed. With the benefit of hindsight, Rodgers would have been a far better option. I hear what Augie and SteveO have to say, but it's unfair on Rodgers to say the least.

Early days for him, but I'm surprised at how well he's doing with a pretty disjointed unit that he inherited from Claude Puel. I don't think anyone can seriously argue that he has a better squad of players than Dick has at his disposal this season (even the squad Dick actually inherited), but Rodgers has reinvigorated the team very quickly, set a pattern for them and got them playing his way. They look enthusiastic and that's a huge advantage, regardless of inherent ability. It's not just this season either....Rodgers had an immediate effect when he took over last March. I suspect that he's one of those managers that has a good couple of seasons, then it goes off the boil, but I'd have taken that, given that Dick can't get us even simmering, let alone boiling !

Our lot are all over the place and Emery looks entirely fucking lost and out of his depth. I'm as surprised as anyone that I'm lauding Rodgers, but credit where it's due.

KSE letting us down AGAIN.

We are already 4 points from 4th, give Emery another 2 months and we'll be 7 or 8 points minimum off top 4, then whoever comes in, assuming he goes in January, has an impossible mission to get us in the CL, and are stuck with a transfer budget of a 3rd tier Bulgarian club, because we've blown all we can without wiggy putting money in (never happening) this summer (future payments).

I think we need a footballing equivalent of Kenneth Williams ... seen here interpreting Stanley 'Unai' Unwin ... and everything will become clear.

This ones especially for Jock, who is played here by a confused Sid James :barscarf:
