It's all been said before on here about Ozil. If anyone ever summed up the term "luxury player", then it's him. Few have his technical ability and he sees and does things that others can't. However, for 85% of the time, he's a passenger and that's hard to tolerate in a team full of quality players, let alone our shower. Absolutely frustrating bloke, who I'd get rid of tomorrow if we could. Shows once in a blue moon and almost never in the "big" games.
He needs others doing the work and others making the right decisions in front of him. I had no idea about him when he played in Germany, but had the opinion I still have, when he was at RM, or playing for Germany. At least then, he had the quality around him that could maximise his ability.
For what it's worth, given that he's probably going nowhere until his deal is up, I might try him as a proper number 10, centrally behind Laca, with Auba and Pepe or Martinelli out wide and Guendouzi and Torreira in centre mid. Imo, playing Ozil out wide is a waste of his ability and effectiveness.
