As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
Back in my teens/early 20's I used to think myself so lucky to be an Arsenal fan, 3 x doubles, lots of cups, exciting football, then along came the Emirates and vultures like Kroenke and right now I think things must have gone way past the point of evening themselves out, I feel unlucky to be an Arsenal fan, ashamed and bored in equally measure.
Nothing to say about the game, didn't watch it and by all accounts didn't miss anything, I do wonder what the reaction will be like if we go down by 2 or more goals at Leicester?, will the muppets that run the club (into the ground) do anything at that point?, still not 100% sure they will, says it all really.

Watching this interview with Gilberto and Keown and it is quite telling, they don't actually call for emery to go / be sacked, but they do say that he should have sorted the mid-field and defensive problems at Arsenal after 18 months in the job.
Gilberto can say what he wants because he's been very quiet about Arsenal over the years but Keown can fuck off. Ten fucking years, he sat there defending that prick Wanker when it was just as bad, if not more depressing and the moment the *word censored* goes, he can't wait to get the boot in. Not that I'm sticking up for Emery, just pissed off with how hypocritical and band-wagon jumping, Keown has become. If *word censored* like him had put pressure on Wanker six years ago, we wouldn't be in half this mess.

Remember about 10 years ago, we played away to Braga in that weird quarry of theirs and lost 1-0 or whatever it was in a truly woeful and depressingly clueless performance. This was similar and in the UEFA Cup, just for added shitness. You were better off not watching it.

Absolutely - it is cos of c.unts like keown defending the French cock for years after he should have gone, that has caused us to be as far away from the top teams as we are

Myself and the wife recently watched the brilliant programme on sky where wrighty went out to Holland to interview Bergkamp, and I said to the wife how sad it made me watching it - I said to her that in my lifetime I have had the pleasure of seeing some genuine Arsenal legends in action (Bergkamp, TA6, PV4, wrighty, henry etc.), and our sons have no legends to adore. I know part of the issue is that players rarely hang around long enough to be legends anymore, but we neither seem to be developing or buying players of that ilk

Spot on about Keown. When the pressure on Wenger was building he was firmly in the " careful what you wish for" camp.
Just watched the replay - didn't realize it was a played last night !. Just wasted 1.30hrs of my life. What a load of rubbish from our mighty team. Should have been smashed 3 or 4 in the first half. Not looking forward to the weekend match against Foxes. They'll run us off our feet. I don't just blame Emery for this mess. Our players all look like they are playing for themselves & not as a team. Even Tierny was off his game tonight. I suppose that's what happens to decent players after training with our second rate bunch of overpaid pussies.

That programme was brilliant. But it was also equal parts a wonderful trip down nostalgia road and a depressing indictment of what we have become. I watched it with my son and tried to explain to him how lucky I was to have seen so many great players in their prime and to have seen so much success.
It was a poor game last night undoubtedly, played out in shocking conditions......and before anyone thinks I'm making excuses, I'm not......however, anyone who has played the game at any level will tell you how much harder it is to have a decent, passing game when it pisses with rain and their is surface water for 90 minutes
A bit of perspective perhaps - there is only 1 team going into tonight's round of matches with maximum points....that team being Sevilla who somehow ended up in a group with Qarabag, Dudelange and Apoel Nicosia......so getting maximum points is not easy, and we certainly have no divine right to it in a group playing teams from Portugal, Germany and Belgium (perhaps if we were playing teams from Azerbaijan, Luxembourg and Cyprus I would think differently).
The team aren't playing well - teams get runs like this - but 5th in the table and still (Sevilla apart) with the best record in the competition isn't a crisis in my world.
The argument seems to be that the squad we have should be doing better. Perhaps so, but nowhere near on the scale that Man U, the Scum or Everton should be doing better
However, once you've lost the fans you rarely come back from it and looking at the sentiment all over social media, change is inevitable now it would seem. If the club do appoint Mourinho it would at least complete seal my divorce from them - doubt I could bring myself to watch any games
Ironic that even though I am watching games streamed now (thanks clummo) which I rarely did before, I am not enjoying watching any game and wish the season was over already The club is totally engulfed in negativity right now, and it is draining the life out of me - for years most of the fans wanted the senile French cock out but it seemed that the vast majority of players were behind him (life was too cushy for them ), whilst right now it seems that the fans, the players and the media all want emery gone and there is doom and gloom everywhere.
This game kinda typifies where we are - in itself drawing the game shouldn't be a big deal (seeing as everybody claims to have no interest in the europa league group games), but it is coming on the back of a poor run of results and performances, so it puts the spotlight on the game and gives fans just another reason to vent
